a maximum income is :censored2: prevention.
'
when youre spending $60,000+ on a car or $10,000 for a suit, youre an :censored2:.

o and btw, most working americans arent rich or even middle class.
Prevention from what? I'm actually in favor of a higher floor than what exists in the US now, but a ceiling is a whole different thing.

BTW, it's quick to disabuse college kids of this type of socialism in one quick experiment. At the beginning of the semester, tell them they'll all get the same grade on each test. There will be a few who study hard and do well, and a few who don't study and get the same grade.

Now that you've removed the incentive to perform, the class average always drops as fewer students study, knowing they'll get the same grade as everyone else anyway.

It's eye opening for them by the end of the semester when each of them are getting failing grades. You've effectively spread misery to the entire class, and this is precisely what strict socialism does.

im pretty sure socialism is about worker self determination like not taking orders from a boss.

capitalism does something very similar to your "socialist" same grades experiment in that it gives everyone the same wage regardless of their work ethic. to be precise, at my union job it doesnt matter how much you pretend to work or not because you will be paid the same as someone who works hard.

There are 11 empty houses for every homeless person in Virginia, and 40% of US food production rots while thousands don't know where their next meal will come from.

The continued existence of poverty isn't natural, it's a deliberate policy choice made by people in power.

7. Starting off reports wondering why there is so much poverty is absurd. Poverty is the natural state of human beings. Maybe try focusing on what creates wealth instead of just redistributing it.

But socialism has bosses and so do your Co-ops.

Why don’t you work at a co-op? My guess is that the co-op didn’t want deal with your BS. thay have enough of unproductive BS of their own.

but not all. im fine with any capitalism that doesnt have any employees and isnt unnecessarily polluting like alot of capitalism does.

with no employees, theres no barking orders and no exploitation.

i dont make any distinction between a business of 2 owners democratically deciding how to run it and democratically run cooperatives.

i know you think youre free and all following orders and not knowing how much UPS profits off of you, its ok you can play out that fantasy.

The co-ops you tout are not democratically run. Can you list any that are? Please include their bylaws.

Norway has a polluting economy. It does not exist without pollution.

Where do the workers work if there's no business to go to work? Someone had to show up with the capital to open the place...

which they vote in which is the difference between them and UPS amongst other things.
Well you have to vote for someone. And that someone is telling you what to do all day. Just like a little kid.

So at the end of the day, you want an economy that’s core values are to pollute the earth and bosses you around all day??!

sure. in italy, the marcora law states that if you get i think 8 unemployed people, the govt will give them their unemployment in lump sum to start a worker coop together. italy has the most worker coops of any country, and the UK and US went in post wwII to bust them up.

i think democracy at work is realy important regardless of whether the govt owns the job or the workers do.
