Because democrats see each illegal as a new voter for them.
Estimate range from 12M to 20M+ currently in the country and the left cries out that most are just here to do the jobs most American refuse to do . Trying to remove them all would cost to much money.
Mexico and some other southern countries GNP is directly tied to the $B these workers send home, remove all those funds and watch how quickly their society collapse.

Yet they forget to inform the general public that only 1 out of 10 will actually be locked up.
Why because they have nowhere to put them all.

And his uncle was able to receive a "cinderella " license after the court ordered him to surrender his license.
Under Mass law a temporary driving license maybe issued for hardship reasons, they are called commonly called cinderella because they are only good for 12 hrs daily.
Not bad for a guy who lives 1 mile from his job, now that's a real hardship.

Ya, just how many in this sweep were already deported at least once ?
Sound more like a revolving door , just something to prop up the numbers.

Immigration officials lack bed space for 90 percent of apprehended illegal aliens; DHS proposes more cuts | The Daily Caller
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official has told The Daily Caller that the agency only has enough space to hold approximately one in ten suspected illegal aliens that it processes. The rest must be released because of a lack of beds in holding facilities.
Yet the current budget proposal from the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, calls for a reduction — not an increase — in the number of beds in those facilities.
“ICE only has 34,000 detention beds and over 300,000 individuals in removal proceedings,” said an ICE official who requested anonymity. The rest are given bonds or tracking devices, or simply released on their own recognizance.
In a Feb. 23 op-ed, Texas Republican Rep. Lamar Smith responded to the proposed cut in ICE’s capacity to keep suspected illegal aliens in custody.
“Under his budget for 2013, Mr. Obama reduces the number of detention bed spaces by 1,200 beds — from 34,000 to 32,800,” Smith noted. “The administration proposes using the resulting funds to enhance its alternatives-to-detention programs. But these programs result in higher levels of illegal immigrants disappearing into American communities.”
But Department of Justice records, Smith insisted, “reveal that since 1996, 40 percent of all non-detained illegal immigrants in removal proceedings simply became fugitives.

DHS To Grant Illegal Aliens “Unlawful Presence Waivers”
The new measure would apply to illegal aliens who are relatives of American citizens.
Here is how it would work, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announcement posted in today’s Federal Register, the daily journal of the U.S. government; the agency will grant “unlawful presence waivers” to illegal aliens who can prove they have a relative that’s a U.S. citizen.
Besides the obvious security issues, changing this would be like rewarding bad behavior in a child.
It doesn’t make sense.
The administration also claims that relaxing the rule will also “create efficiencies for both the U.S. government and most applicants.” How exactly is not listed in the Federal Register announcement, which gives the public 60 days to comment. That’s only a formality since the DHS has indicated that the change is pretty much a done deal.

I think the DHS should schedule their "getaway meetings" for a campout on the Tex-Mex border. That way they could see first-hand the problems of immigration.

I dare them!!

I laugh at people who sit in DC offices and think they are taking care of the borders. Clueless!
And, they missed the human sacrifice today!!
