Is anyone following Wisconsin?

Because there is a certain Tennessee republican senator who would never let it see the light of day.

Wow...so just one Republican stopped it then. So the Dems controlled the house (I guess TOS was confussed on who controlled the house) and one Republican stopped the bill...that is amazing. Even with the Teamsters and UPS teaming up to try and get the bill passed it still failed because of Shelby. I guess when Fred S threatended to cancel orders for the Boeing 777s and said he would have to lay people off might have had alot to do with it too. Still just one Republican stopped the bill...amazing!!!

Basically, yes. Senators are very powerful individuals. It wasn't Shelby, though. It was Bob Corker. When a senator puts a "hold" on a bill, it stops indefinitely unless a super-majority (60 votes) starts it along again.

And your tone is slightly off. I was simply stating a fact, not blaming the "republican senator". I'm actually indifferent as to whether Fedex unionizes or not.

You can't "play" with words because even Time is in the cross hairs of Obama's target plan to lower the violent rhetoric and kill the animosity ..

A CEO, a teacher, and a Tea Party member meet in a room. There is a box of a dozen cookies.

The CEO takes 11 cookies.

CEO then says to Tea Party member:
"Watch out! That teacher wants half of your cookie!"

Reference, please?

Can't give you a reference.......those are original words from me showing a play on words regarding B.O.'s request at his Tucson speech to tone down the rhetoric. Time mag went against B.O. instructions and referred to Gov. Walker as a dead man......tsk, tsk, that's not what the pres. wants. The left always accuses the right of using 'gun-type and violent words but it's the left that keeps using them......ironic huh?

That's because the right is more likely to believe the crazy talk. They eat it up. Hell, seems now they revel in their hatred. I admit that there are those on the left that went way too far with Bush and Cheney, but the down-right lies that the right believe about Obama is self-defeating for them. The right is positioning Obama for a land-slide victory because any general election candidate is going to have to say ridiculous, un-credible things just to get there. That's why an honorable, intelligent politician like Mitch Daniels won't run. Too much decency. But you can get all the Huckabee's, Palin's, Gingrich's, and Bachman's out there flying their Ol' Vain Glories. Don't kid yourselves though. None of them are main-stream enough to get independent voters and Obama will do enough to show he tries to work with the other side to win over those same voters.

Carnival in Rio just ended on ash Wednesday....but, after that, it's tradition to abstain from bodily pleasures.......so he's costing the tax payers a lot of money just to NOT sleep with Michelle.

Children picketing at the capitol building....."Hey, hey, ho, ho, Gov. Walker's got to go...."

It would serve the teacher right that when the kids don't like the teacher's assignment, they chant, "hey, hey, ho, ho, teacher lady's gotta go..." They learn what they live.

Kids shouldn't be given propaganda! I think it's a form of abuse.

I would be inclined to agree with you if Gov. Walker wasn't acting in a way so severely detrimental to the children of hard working public servants, as well as students in general.

Maybe the kids realize that when mommy and daddy take a serious pay cut, that hurts them, the kids.....also, it is a fact that Gov. Walker's budget will destroy the Milwaukee Public schools, and allow rich kids to take their vouchers to private schools anywhere in Milwaukee County. AND remove the requirement that charter school teachers have teaching licenses, and also remove the requirement that charter school kids take the standard state achievement tests. See, it turns out, when you measure the actual performance of charter school kids, their outcomes aren't any better than the reviled public schools. So we can't have that silly accountability stuff pointing out the lack of the Emperor's clothes, can we?

(WaPo) — Imagine the outrage if government workers did not have collective bargaining for wages and benefits. Consider the massive protests that would be staged by labor leaders all across the country.
Think I’m talking about Wisconsin? No, I’m talking about the federal government.
Contrary to what the Obama administration would lead you to believe, most employees of the federal government do not have collective bargaining for wages and benefits. That means the budget reform plan we signed into law in Wisconsin on Friday is more generous than what President Obama offers federal employees.
Our reform plan calls for a 5.8 percent pension contribution from government workers, including myself, and a 12.6 percent health insurance premium payment. Both are well below what middle-class, private-sector workers pay. Federal workers, however, pay an average of 28 percent of health insurance costs.
It’s enough to make you wonder why there are no protesters circling the White House.

So, you would be in favor then, of kids not attending a christian church?

Peace.
