I took a long nap
Excellent. Remember the 14 rule and drive safe.Snow last night and 175 stops in the country on a route where 120 is fairly heavy. Good times. Apparently have enough volume for 7 more routes than we have trucks.
Supposedly a 21:00 curfew but we'll seeExcellent. Remember the 14 rule and drive safe.
Wasnt the point. He insisted that they dont accept tax dollars. Especially during a time where this business was making money hand over fist.I think everyone did. They were handing it out like water bottles.
Are you going to sit here and tell me that USPS didn’t except tax payer funding during covid?

Since this thread is no longer exactly about SurePost volume I’ll take this opportunity to chime in and say…….the USPS is long past due for privatization or elimination. I prefer the latter.
We don’t need them. Why is the government delivering retail items and competing with the private sector to do so?
The original purpose of the postal service was for communication between England and the colonies. Well, that’s irrelevant now. Both politically and technologically.
Junk mail? Who wants it?
Yes, they deliver government related mail/packages but it’s a tiny fraction of what the handle. And it could all be handled by the private sector.
I say disband the whole thing. It’s nothing more than a prime example of a relic government entity thats staying on life support to stay relevant. The Constitution doesn’t say there MUST be a postal service. Only gives Congress the POWER to create/disband one.

Dang they would have to come back for gasWe had a couple of "country" routes that were dispatched daily with LESS than 25 stops. (They were 300+ mile a day routes).
Not EVERYBODY did. Just those looking to mooch off the system. Money was to be made during that time (which they did) and STILL took money intended for those who desperately needed it.I didn't say they don't accept free money. As everybody did.
I said the USPS doesn't run off tax payer money. they are self funded. COVID was an exception, where everybody took tax dollars.
Buy gas on route---it was quite common.Dang they would have to come back for gas
Would be interesting since they’d lose all of their govt mandated advantages over their competitors. Such as not having to pay taxes, protections from certain lawsuits, etc.I totally agree. Privatize the USPS.
My old center doesn't even have a gas pump anymore. ALL drivers buy their gas on route. The smart ones do it at stations that offer free carwashes and save the coupons for their personal vehicles.Dang they would have to come back for gas
Great plan....Yes. UPS got rid of all the rentals so now we have more routes than trucks.

No.. You said "The Postal Service receives no direct taxpayer funds.' when in fact they did.Not saying they didn’t. I said the USPS is not funded with tax payer money. They are self funded.
There is no tax payer money in the Federal budget allocated to the USPS.
The first time I had heard of a satellite route was up your way. It was in the Big Idea (90?). The driver left Bemidji drove an hour or so and made the satellite drop.We had a couple of "country" routes that were dispatched daily with LESS than 25 stops. (They were 300+ mile a day routes).
I thought you were gone like surepost?Great plan....
