No.. You said "The Postal Service receives no direct taxpayer funds.' when in fact they did.

They did this when there was ZERO reason for them to be taking the money.

That was a quote from the tagged article. OK. They received a bailout of tax payer money during COVID like thousands of other companies received.

I replied to the post that seemed to indicate that the USPS is funded with tax payer money. Similar to DHS, Homeland Security, the VA, the DOD.

They are self funded. They needed a bailout. So did the automakers, airlines, banks, etc.

It doesn’t mean they are funded with funded with taxpayer money. They got bailed out with tax payer money

Hey, your goalpost. Move it as you will.

My goalpost never moved. The USPS is not tax payer funded. They are self funded. There is no tax payer money in the Federal budget allocated to the USPS.

They got a one time bailout during COVID, like thousands of companies did, of tax payer money.

If you say they are tax payer funded because of this, OK, you win.

Does that mean the other thousands of companies are also tax payer funded?

Imagine a logistics company needing a bailout during covid. That tells me all I need to know.

The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA) of 2006 required that the Postal Service “pre-fund'' 100 percent of its retiree health benefit liabilities, 75 years into the future, at a cost of $5.5 billion a year over the first ten years. The USPS now “owes” the government over $35 billion of the unpaid portion of this legal obligation. The draconian pre-funding mandate is a large reason why the Postal Service slowed service and curtailed hours of operation, closed processing plants, increased subcontracting, and severely reduced staffing. It also hurt the Postal Service’s financial ability to upgrade buildings and infrastructure, and purchase a new vehicle fleet.

I don't think all the volume today was from Sure Post but man was it busy.
Is this also the reason that I am seeing more Amazon?
