The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP bestowed its Person of the Year Award on Al Sharpton Thursday, following its withdrawal of the Lifetime Achievement Award it had planned to give to Donald Sterling last month.
For his part, Sharpton couldn’t resist
taking a shot at the embattled Sterling during his acceptance speech:
“Sterling may be rich but he’s not as rich as the history of this organization,” Sharpton told guests.
