Do the Math: Obama predicts American Jobs Act will cost $235,263 per job[/h]
“Pass this bill!”
(CNSNews.com) — President Barack Obama said at a fundraiser held in a private residence in Washington, D.C., on Thursday evening that the $447 billion American Jobs Act he has proposed will create 1.9 million American jobs — which works out to a cost of about $235,263 per job.
“It’s estimated that the American Jobs Act would add two percentage points to the GDP, and add as many as 1.9 million jobs, and bring the unemployment rate down by a full percentage point,” Obama said, according to the official White House transcript of his remarks.
Obama did not say who made the estimate in question, but his remarks mirrored the conclusions of an analysis made by Mark Zandi, the chief economist for Moody’s Analytics. “The plan would add 2 percentage points to GDP growth next year, add 1.9 million jobs, and cut the unemployment rate by a percentage point,” Zandi wrote.
In a fact sheet published by Office of the Press Secretary, the White House itself has estimated that president’s new jobs plan will cost a total of $447 billion.
$447 billion divided by 1.9 million equals approximately $235,263.

Harold Egbert Camping (born July 19, 1921 in Colorado)) is an American Christian radio broadcaster.[SUP][2][/SUP] He is president of Family Radio, a California-based radio station group that spans more than 150 markets in the United States. Camping is notable for applying numerology to his interpretations of Bible passages to predict dates for the End Times.[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP]
His 2011 end times prediction was that on May 21, 2011 Jesus Christ would return to Earth, the righteous would fly up to heaven, and that there would follow five months of fire, brimstone and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day, culminating on October 21, 2011 with the end of the world.[SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP] He had previously predicted judgment days on May 21, 1988, and September 7, 1994.[SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP]
His 2011 prediction was widely reported, and prompted responses from both atheist and Christian organizations.[SUP][9][/SUP][SUP][10][/SUP] After May 21 passed without the predicted incidents, Camping said he believed that a "spiritual" judgment had occurred on that date, and that the physical Rapture would occur on October 21, 2011, simultaneously with the destruction of the universe by God.[SUP][[/SUP]

The "End of the World" preacher might be Hagee out of San Antonio. I think he's full of :censored2: but his video's are entertaining when they pan the audience and they look like they are at the latest horror flick to hit the big screen. Nothing like "scaring the hell out of em" to pack a house and it does the bank account good too!

Now, you can figure out how much another recession will cost if nothing is done. Good luck.

klein, go look up the recession of 1918-1919.
Which the sitting president did not do anything about it and the economy came roaring back in 1920-1921.
Hence those years have become known as Roaring Twenties.

What are we on the fourth year of this recession, and no matter what bhos does NOTHING happens.

(The Hill) — President Obama will call for a new higher tax rate on millionaires to ensure they pay at least the same share of income in taxes that middle class families do.
A White House official confirmed the president will unveil the plan Monday at the White House as part of a broad proposal with recommendations aimed at deficit reduction.
The plan will be called the “Buffett Rule” in reference to billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who has long called on lawmakers to increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans.
“My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress,” Buffett wrote in a New York Times op-ed published on Aug. 15th. “It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.”

Obviously the fact that Buffett’s effective tax rate is low is because he lives mainly off of dividends which are taxed at only 15% makes no difference. Millions of middle-class retired Americans also live off of dividends, will all of them fall under Obama’s new “Buffett rule?”

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Drawing a bright line with congressional Republicans, President Barack Obama is proposing $1.5 trillion in new tax revenue as part of his long-term deficit reduction plan, according to senior administration officials.
Key features of the proposal:
-$1.5 trillion in new revenue, which would include about $800 billion realized over 10 years from repealing the Bush-era tax rates for couples making more than $250,000. It also would place limits on deductions for wealthy filers and end certain corporate loopholes and subsidies for oil and gas companies.
-$580 billion in cuts in mandatory benefit programs, including $248 billion in Medicare and $72 billion in Medicaid and other health programs. Other mandatory benefit programs include farm subsidies.
-$430 billion in savings from lower interest payment on the national debt.
By adding about $1 trillion in spending cuts already enacted by Congress and counting about $1 trillion in savings from the drawdown of military forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, the combined deficit reduction would total more than $4 trillion over 10 years, senior administration officials said.
All in all, the president's plan is as much an opening bid as it is a political statement designed to draw contrasts with Republicans, who control the House of Representatives.
As such, it was not intended as a compromise and did not include agreements Obama had reached with House Speaker John Boehner during failed deficit reduction negotiations this summer.
The new taxes in particular have little or no chance of passing Congress as proposed. Republicans were already lining up against the president's tax proposal before they even knew the magnitude of what he intended to recommend.

Yeah, don't end those corporate loopholes and tax breaks. It's not like small business needs an even playing field against the big bullies, to survive. It's not as though 60+% of all new jobs are created within small business. Go Republicans.

As long as big business continues to funnel cash to the appropriate places and is not paying their share all the while not spending the trillions of cash on hand, nothing is 'gon get solved.

[h=2]Cuba Soon to Start Drilling Our Oil[/h]
no-zones.jpg

For decades, Democrats have blocked one effort after another to responsibly develop the energy resources our country possesses, transforming vast areas of opportunity into “The No Zone.”
Because of current U.S. policy, U.S. companies are prohibited from developing oil fields that lie in Cuban waters and come within 50 miles of Florida. However, Cuba is exploring and developing these oil fields, estimated by the U.S. Geological Survey to possess more oil than the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, and Cuba is partnering with China and other countries…
Cuba will begin drilling off Florida by December.

Meanwhile, even in the limited areas where liberals allow us to drill at all, restrictions are so severe that companies are just giving up.
Looks like we’ll have to make do with all the imaginary green energy Comrade Obama is generating with his bankrupt solar boondoggles

Well, that's how it is, since no one wants to stop that Cuban Embargo.
I don't blame Cuba - they do really need the money !
