Because those people are needed for a short time so it's hard to hire that way. Also they DON'T get benefits therefore they can make a little more. Simple fix would be no permanent PT makes less than a seasonal.

I’m of the opinion that those that want their thumbs down button most, should have it the least.

Regardless, the mods don’t have the ability to take button privileges away. Which deeply saddens me.

I think the emphasis should be on FT jobs for PT ppl, not so much the wages. Reward long time part timers with some 22.3 work.
Wouldn't putting more 22.3s up for bid just create more driving jobs? Are you proposing limiting bids on newly created* 22.3 jobs to part time senority dates?

everyone knows the benefit package is great here. I’m not too sure why it matters . If the company didn’t have record profits the last 5 years I’d say sure let’s be careful. But jeez, why use the benefit package to say the pay raise shouldn’t be decent? They can afford to pay the benefit and a good pay raise and still make billions.

Who said the raises shouldn't be decent?

I only challenged the notion that a part-time job provide a "living wage"....on top of full benefits and a pension.

You are not suppose to have a livable wage doing part time hours.I worked 2 jobs for 9 years to support my family until I went full time. Started at 8.50 unloading trucks, I don’t get all this they deserve 25/hr Bs. I don’t think you should make a living wage working part time hours. I agree. Union Brothers and sisters bla bla. They are entitled :censored2:s. The ones with seniority don't do :censored2:, small sort doesn't do :censored2:. Loaders should be paid the most. I think it should be easier to get rid of then personally most of them just show up and :censored2: up whatever area and job they are doing and again the ones with seniority aren't even doing anything. How much? I think top rate of 27 an hour is good enough for a part time job with benefits and a pension. Just think for a second lol mother :censored2:ers whining about how low A PENSION IS YOU GAINED THROUGH PART TIME EMPLOYMENT.Ot after 5.5 has to go. part time needs to be a progression just like full time. I think the progression should be 1 year. I don't care about Jimmy John who's been here for 25 years who takes 3 minutes to walk up 8 stairs who thinks he shouldn't be making what a person who's been here half the time is.
