No one is saying "those 250 jobs are the price of doing union activist work". At least no one other than you! Any price to be paid must be paid by those who violated the contract language...UPS! So, while some may choose to misquote and make ridiculous comments in support of UPS, there are others who are wearing the big boy pants. Nothing short of a total victory is acceptable here. That's what those 250 drivers deserve and I'm sure that's Tim's goal. The crying and whining isn't going to get that done. As determined as you are to criticize and point fingers at everyone EXCEPT UPS, it's probably just as well that you simply stay out of the way and let the big kids handle this one.

It's amazing you walk for a man stealing time but will tell a member to resign? Why is this member so special? This fight could have been done in every building in our local!! Pls man! Ups is no saint here! But they didn't fire 250 on there own! That magazine you sent out states maspeth is getting paid? Doesn't seem like grievance procedure is broken with Liam smiling for the camera.

This is no time to be dividing us we should stand with the drivers and we should stand with the e-board.
Dividing us?! Stand with the Eboard? And what exactly are they doing to fix this situation?
The company isn't even seating down with them. Intact is so bad for those members that they can't even talk about the issue with anyone or else they get walk-off for good! Can anyone imagine working under those conditions?
What is Sylvester has to say about that?! He will ask you to sign a petition like that is going to fix it!

The one thing we all have is common is standing behind and showing support of the 250! I see no reason to back the board in there decisions to orchestrate a second strike in this local! Will you be endorsing a bankrupt 804 if this continues!!! I ask our board to be smart! Get good advice! And not harm local 804! We haven't even paid for the last strike yet! Guess you will give up More than the only salary you just cut? But that guy did nothing wrong and was fired??

This is coming from the reformer that ran against our E-Board.... He is still in the honeymoon stage with TDU but has potential to understand after the dust settles. We can all agree that everyone wants the drivers cleared. It's the E-board that's is in a pickle and there is no use in trying to predict the outcome. This is a pass or fail for the B.A.

251, isnt it true that hall was T.D.U. and Careys right hand man? What happened and how come all these blowhards arent bashing hall? He helps to put us on strike in 97. Then joins up with the current administration and presents us with maybe the worst contract in U.P.S.'s history. I liked him better when he was T.D.U.!

We had a building meeting in Melville this week....Dave O words were that Liam did the right thing and the very next sentence Dave O said "if I get heated and pull another wildcat strike don't follow me and go straight to your trucks and go to work"...cant make this stuff if u want to....enough said

Exactly. We should stand by the drivers and the E-board of 804 until there is an outcome.
Just because the E-board is TDU doesn't mean they messed up. This could come out good for 804. We just don't know yet.

The 250 drivers get all of our backing without a doubt. The point is the local should make sure the members are never put in a position to lose their job. They are not chips to gamble with and there are other ways to win for the one driver that was wrongfully terminated. If the B.A. made a big mistake even the local can't protect him.
