Why I've? So I can get put in quere again and get mad and leave the site. What does this prove? What war am I in on here. I'm sitting in a 200 + house and I can get most things I want. My wife is beautiful and my kids are healthy and beautiful as well. I found a new love in my dog Bianca and I'm an honest man who doesn't cheat in life. Hell I even have three cats 9000 songs on my iTunes and Jesus loves me no matter what. Plus I keep finding firewood like a hoarder. I've got over three cords.[/quote]

Were the potential consequences of taking said stand clearly spelled out for you guys?

What you don't seem to get is they have language in their supplement that says if UPS doesn't abide by they rules, the union can walk.

On march 25th 2014 ups went on the record with its drivers about the maspeth walkout. It was the first response that we have received from ups on the matter.

It's not very nice to say that nobody likes him. Even though it might make you feel better at the moment. He has people that do like him and what you said isn't very nice. Think about it.

Has the members of 804 and other locals around the country thought about how this can play out financially on the health of our union! We have about 4 million in bank!

They are concerned with the members involved jobs, there families and the impact of this effecting members benefits long term! Due to losing that many people at one time.

While it would be hard for that local management to hire & train that many replacement drivers I wouldn't put it past this slimy company. If you just think about it for a moment...most of them were probably at top pay and new drivers hired would be on the 4 year progression. They would save millions.

What about the rules in local 804 bylaws,that the shop stewards and The president ,business agents non elected business agent is breaking. There is a lot of cover ups going on in that building and in Local 804. Don’t give these people too much credit!!!! It’s so much back stabbing going on in that union and deals being made with the company. If the media only knew the true face of local 804 and what they stand for. They need to be voted out!!!!!!!!! -
 
A Driver with 26 years of seniority, got fired this morning, in an continued streak of un-just firings in the local 804 jurisdiction by the company. We walked out in solidarity and caused a strike, to the duration of a few hours, as our BA kept negotiating to get our fellow teamster job back. The Labor Manager refused to negotiate. During that time, The President of the local was in contact with the Regional Labor Manager. When the BA got off the phone with the President, He told us that the matter was going to be reviewed immediately, but urged us to return to work. We refused to go back in until the firing was reversed. LP was outside snapping pictures and writing the names of the hundreds of drivers that were standing in the parking lot, waiting for the firing to be reversed. A few hour later, the Secretary- Treasure showed up and urge us to go back inside, saying that the strike was not sanction. We listened and return back into the building. The company has been on a firing spree. I shop steward was fired yesterday because his answers "weren't clear enough". When is this harassment going to stop. It has gotten out of hand. We Local 804 are tired of it and is will to stand up and fight.



Why would the Labor Manager Listen to any BA ,When you got NON ELECETED BA ,NoN Elected Shop Stewards AND Shop Stewards having behind doors meeting with the Labor Manage Hell the company period making deals with them against union members. Good for the drivers for standing there ground.

The moment I seen this post, I automatically looked at your profile...lol Welcome to the cafe. Just curious, do you mind naming these non elected stewards? Also Liam ran with the current board, how is he not elected again? Oh and about shop stewards having "behind doors meeting, please elaborating on that.

Here comes another one that just post stuff without facts.

again what people who like the current 804 board has to understand is there is a precedent set back when Dave O pulled a wildcat that is exactly the same as Liam pulled (and ours lasted all of 10 minutes if that)...that an arbitrator ruled that the 804 board would be well advised not to do this again...guess what they did it again...again the board knows they are in the wrong that's why they want a resolution asap while UPS is holding all the cards...again it sux for the drivers (I was in same position in Melville)..and yes would love UPS to get theirs, but a wildcat will end up costing our local good Union members.....if u asked all Melville drivers would you follow the local in another wildcat walkout 99% of our building would grab their diads and had to their truck...I wonder how many Maspeth drivers would do the same if they had a chance to do it all over again?

Local 804 bylaws

Section 1: Shop Stewards shall be elected by majority vote of the members in the unit represented by such steward. Only members who are employed on a regular basis within the jurisdiction of the Union shall be eligible to be elected Shop Steward. The Executive Board shall determine the unit to be represented by such steward. The term of stewards shall be one (1) year. Election for stewards shall be in the month of April or May.

Section 2: The Executive Board shall be empowered to remove any steward for incompetency, dishonesty or other just cause. The Executive Board may remove such steward pending a trial upon charges. The Principal Officer shall appoint a replacement to complete the term of any steward who is removed. In such units where no candidates are proposed for election, the Executive Board may appoint stewards to serve a one year term.

Section 3: Each Shop Steward shall receive two dollars ($2.00) with respect to each monthly dues payment deposited in the general fund on account of regular employees represented by him/her. Each shop steward shall submit to the Secretary-Treasurer a list of members represented by him/her every April and October, and upon request.

Section 4: The Shop Steward shall process all complaints which shall be reduced to writing and filed in the office of the Union. In his absence, the Shop Steward will designate as many alternates as is necessary to have complete coverage at all times. The Shop Steward shall perform such other duties as the Executive Board may direct.

Section 5: Shop Stewards shall constitute a council for the purpose of advising and consulting with the Executive Board in the formulation of policies that may be necessary for the success of the Union. The Shop Stewards council shall meet prior to each regular general membership meeting.

Not giving up names, or you're just talking out your behind. I'm from "that building" that you speak of. Also, Liam is an elected official. His name was on that ballot at the last Executive Board Election. Management are not allowed to vote, that's why you didn't receive a ballot.
