Thank you for posting the truth. Anyone who disagrees with Liam's actions and putting the drivers jobs in jeopardy on this thread is considered to be agreeing with UPS. I hope there is another solution to this that will saves these drivers jobs.

It a crying shame, that I had to find this out through my own diligence!
This should be talked about throughout the rank and file everywhere in the country!

If 250 drivers I believe it the whole center walked out, that should throw a red flag to corporate that management had lost the center!
The center manager has lost control of his or her center, and should be replaced with one that can do damage control!

The posted start times and actual start times for every driver should be available for review. This is easily available evidence to prove who started early. It does not matter if there was "verbal" permission for some drivers to start early. This is not a termination offence.

Again, All Drivers, get copies of your employee file. Get copies of all grievances, warning letters, suspensions and discharges. UPS has disregarded the contract over and over; the company has been given ample time to correct their behavior and they refuse to. Provide the proof that you have asked for 9.5 days and the company has repeatedly ignored this. Provide proof where the company has violated the contract in any way.

Give the media your warning letters, suspension letters, etc for not beeping a horn, missing a handrail, not calling out UPS etc. Let the media know that we have 8 seconds to get in the car, buckle, check mirrors, signal, and look over your shoulder, etc.

Where is UPS corporate chain of command on this? This has to get Atlanta's attention. Is this just a rouge District Manager's decision? The way UPS wants to micro manage everything, this has gotten way out of control.

The 250 drivers discharged should also request to be allowed to record their day via video or audio recorder. UPS will attempt to discharge the ones who get their job back (thru progressive discipline). UPS manager observations will selectively ignore violations from some drivers and discipline others. If you do the job as it should be done, you will be ok. Only if you can prove it. Some UPS managers will not be forthright in their observations. If you record everyday; you will be able to show that you are over 99.9% compliant with all of the methods and procedures. Ask to keep a copy for yourself and provide one to the company.

but also tell the media you have been repeatedly asked to do the above listed things - beeping a horn, grab a handrail, not calling out UPS etc. because its part of your job responsibility!!...but you don't feel like doing it cause its dumb, stupid, you don't have to cause the union said so, you disagree etc. etc.

just sayin....

and that UPS is fully aware of the contract and still discharges an employee with no union representation. This is a bad situation for UPS Management. Maybe a driver missed the horn 5 times out of 100,000, or the hand rail twice out of 50,000 times. Good drivers do these things religiously, but they are not perfect.

Let the media know that on every safety ride the on car sup has to find at least five negative actions by the driver. Even if the driver has done everything following methods and procedures. Explain the 2 types of feedback that must be noted by the oncar supervisor on every safety ride.

It is impossible for a driver to get 100% on their safety ride. When my on-car took over to demonstrate and asked me to critique her/him. I found over 15 methods he/she violated numerous times.

At this point and probably within a couple of days of the walk out, Corporate UPS was running the entire show and making all decisions with legions of lawyers advising the decision makers.

Another fact to publicize, would be the fact that UPS drivers are terminated for accidents that are not their fault. We have had numerous drivers discharged or suspended for accidents where the other driver received the citation or ticket. Some of these accidents involved public drivers who could not produce a drivers license to the UPS managers on the cite of the accident.

The UPS managers stated that UPS did not need to call the police because these crashes occurred on so called private property. So our driver gets terminated and the party at fault receives nothing. These public drivers could not even prove that they were legally entitled to drive at the time they crashed into the UPS package car. Some of these drivers most likely did not have a valid drivers license. Some had no license because it was revoked due to drunk driving, reckless driving or other major offences yet UPS management decides their fate as if nothing had happened.

Where does the corporate responsibility start?

That doesn't mean they will win this. Just means that which ever way this goes, it's going to cost UPS a lot of money and reputation.

250 Teamsters getting fired not one word about it mentioned on the IBT website.Hoffa and Hall are you guys kidding me or what. The International Brotherhood Of Teamsters not supporting our brothers at this time of major need.If this is not a wake up call for unions in this country i don't know what is.Corporate America is watching this real close. If a major union leader like Hoffa sits back and lets this unfold without a fight unions are done my friends. This company violates our contract day in and day out, if we cant keep 250 Teamsters on the payroll for 90 minutes of a work stoppage we are beyond weak.Whether it was right or wrong we pay dues for leadership and somebody needs to step up to the plate before all these hardworking people wind up in the street with no means of supporting there families.

What strengths has Hoffa Jr. ever showed?

He settles for mediocre contracts and acts more like a used car salesman than the president of a large union. He never has the balls to strike. At least not in the last 15 years.

Sometimes, it is like he is working for the company, instead of the membership. The 2013 UPS contract as an example.

The daily news states that all 250 drivers are terminated and working until there replaced!! Are these men paying union dues???? If so why?? I believe the entire board should lose there salary and other liabilities that they receive from Our local til these drivers are back to work!!

Will reformers be a group to give up our right to strike in 804.

Our posted start time is 9:40. We have several drivers who show up as early as 8:40 to sort their pkg cars off the clock. There is no report that I am aware of that will show this unpaid activity.

The driver in question changed his start time but did not leave the bldg. to start his route----he spent that time sorting his own pkg car hence the stealing time.

As Hoke said, it would be the ultimate irony if he were the only driver to get his job back after all is said and done.

If the driver “spent his time sorting his own pkg car” he was working…How is that stealing time?…Bad time management..maybe….stealing time NO….he was WORKING…..Improper termination
