Made in Newton, Iowa by Union workers. Maytag moved overseas promising retirees they would honor their pensions. I had the sad job of delivering NDA letters to the retirees that their pensions were ended.
Have you ever been to the race track in Newton?

Delivered there a few times. Never been to any of the races but seem to always sell out.
How about Knoxville? I attended the sprint car Nationals there for 26 years in a row. 11 straight nights of racing. Haven't been there for 3 years now and miss it. Getting a campsite was such a hassle I gave up on it.

Did you get involved with the Knoxville race Parade that they run on Saturday of the final race? A couple of years UPS had 3 or 4 units in it from P-500's to feeders. All looked like new trucks. They even gave out candy and little UPS trinkets along the parade route.

Man you are old. LOL Never heard a thing about that.

We embargoed Japan because of their expansion in the Pacific, especially their treatment of China.
Yes, no one held a gun to our head and said to give a :censored2: about the Chinese, it was none of our business and it ultimately bit us in the ass creating a Communist Superpower

And were we defending the British ships we were escorting?
Yes, again why were we a neutral country providing armed escorts to a nation at war, even when the convoys had zero American ships?

Imagine if the British had escorted Confederate ships directly into Gosport Yard and attacked US blockades if they approached? Is that not an act of war?

You think a country expanding power across the Pacific, threatening our allies in the region, wasn't an existential threat to our security?

Not a valid analogy comparing a civil war with a war between two countries. By the way the British were buying Southern cotton all through the war. Blockade running was quite an industry.

What about Pearl Harbor? Also, it reminds me of Russia with Ukraine. Ok they take over Ukraine, none of our business. But when does it become our business? Until they’ve taken over the entire world and it’s them against us? Hitler didn’t stop in Germany, absolute power corrupts, he was going for it all, eventually. You can only ignore problems like that for so long before it smacks you in the face and forces you to look

No he wasn’t. Hitler wanted what was lost from the Versailles Treaty. He did not want to go to war with the British. He hated communism and saw Russia as the greatest threat. Unnecessary War. Read Buchanan!

Mainland China isn't the Pacific

threatening our allies in the region
China wasn't our ally

No

Changing the context doesn't change the example, you know it's valid and you're dodging it

Yes but they weren't willing to kill for it

In all fairness Putin isn't going to attack a NATO country. Germany had a huge industrial base. Russia doesn't. Germany had allies. Russia doesn't have pacts that would require other countries come to their aid. NATO countries have around 7 times more population. Putin isn't that stupid.
