Serious question. If whoever wins lives in a state that has a huge state income tax can they legally move to a state that has no state income tax before claiming the prize? You have a year to claim it. Not paying any state income tax would save you millions (at least here it would). I need to know the answer before 9:59 tonight.

I think you have to redeem in state you bought ticket and pay those taxes.

I checked the official rules and all it says is you must claim your prize in the state you are a resident in. Nothing about where the ticket was purchased. Hello Florida or Texas----here I come.

What about those who do bot have lotteries and cross state line to pick up ticket?
