My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. I noticed he was scratching at his right ear and thought he may have picked up a tick. I looked inside the ear and it was filthy. It took me both ends of 6 Q-tips to clean them but it seems to have done the trick.

Have your kitty checked for ear mites if he starts scratching again.

I heard it described like this:

1. Using the fingers of both hands pinch your top lip as hard as you possibly can.
2. While still pinching pull the lip straight forward.
