movie review

Watched the Hurt Locker last night. Very good movie and worthy of all of the awards that it and the director have received. Gave me an insight in to what our troops have to deal with on a daily basis in Iraq. There were some graphic scenes but they were appropriate to the movie.

Another cold and windy weekend here in God's country so I went to go see The Last Song. Excellent movie--a must see. This one can wait for the DVD but you don't want to miss it when it comes out. Greg Kinnear has really come in to his own as a serious actor and this may be the break out movie for Miley Cyrus. Ladies, be sure to have a box of Kleenex near by for this one. You too, Over.

Yet another cold and rainy weekend here in God's country so I went to go see "Death at a Funeral". Laughed my ass off for 90 minutes. If curse words offend you then do not go or rent this movie.

Steve, sorry to inform you, but ass is not really a curse word.

Shouldn't you be heading to Hopkinton or is that next year?
It is in our house. How'd you like to hear that word coming from the mouth of a 9 year old? Boston for me is next year, as this years was already full when I qualified. Quite a few people from my area are going next year, so it should be quite the party. Maybe we'll see you in the crowd?:happy2:

The runners are lining up now, last year I bailed out of work so my wife and I could watch it live but I'm going to work today so I'll have to rely on her for updates. If Ryan Hall ends up winning (fingers crossed) I'll be kicking myself for not staying home to see it.

Where do you usually go to watch it?

Just saw Iron Man 2, excellent movie. If you liked the first one you'll like this one. Mickey Rourke needs to be in more films, the guy just brings it to every role he plays lately and he's eminently watchable. Robert Downey is the same way and having them both in the same film meant there was never a dull moment.

I am glad you posted this as I was thinking of going to see it tomorrow. It is supposed to be wet and cool all weekend.

Went to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D with my daughter. It was her first trip to the theater. Except for the volume, way too loud, it was very good. It has enough stuff mixed into it to keep parents interested. Very cute movie for kiddos. Some of the dragons can be a little scary, so if a child is easily spooked, might wait for the DVD.

Seeing it on a huge screen in the dark vs at home where they are comfortable could make a difference. Most parents know what their kids can handle. Just threw that out there to give a heads up is all.
