Negotiations

The company is under no obligation to say anything about last best and final. SOB wanted them to. By not doing it the company can call him at any time before the 31st if he refuses to negotiate then it would be his fault because they left the door open by not giving a final offer. Which I believe is their strategy they’re going to give a final offer when they choose before the 31st that does not mean the IBT has to accept if it is substandard.
So he said that no handshake deals or extensions, if ups gives an offer that teamsters approves on the 31st, in your opinion should SON walk back on the no handshake or extensions, or should we strike while we vote?
Somewhere between 20 and 25 starting pay is what I’ve been saying all along.
I think $25 starting is fair with strong progressions or a top out after certain amount of years

I think SOB would be fine with 20 start.
With all the social media posts UPS has done, that has to be the bottom.

I think the hang up is the catch up raises for long time part timers.
My suspicion is company agreed to 20 hour start, and they SOB said okay, and .75 for every year a pt has been here up to 5 years.
Company comes back and says we have no more to give...

Just my guess.

If we have a contract in hand that The IBT endorses, we will keep working through the voting process. It's pretty simple to understand.
So the same old bull:censored2: as Hoffa. Let the company screw us around as long as they want to. I thought this guy was different, that he actually had some balls. Should have known better.

i belive legally he cant call a strike if he endorses a deal... i could be wrong but i think that would constitute unfair labor practice....

It’s what the man said, that’s why. Must I find the video? Im just saying then it was a stupid thing to say because we will not get what we want without striking now. They own his ass. Pretty simple.
Either you're a :censored2:ing troll, or you're ignorant to the whole situation. If you understand how this works, it was always the plan to have a contract in-hand by July 31 at the latest, ratification aside. The company determines this, not anyone else, and they know it.

I had a preloader, I knew clerks and I worked in car wash at night for awhile. I saw a lot. Years ago part time was different, many wanted to drive, today many don’t want to work.

Not always the case. Lack of organization on the company part. they don’t do anything to try and push for new drivers. They’ll happily keep you as a loader if they could. We have year in employees who don’t even know how to sign up to be a driver.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

I think his point is, then why say the opposite? If they both know they’re going to do handshake agreement, and SOB is saying no handshake agreement, then maybe the company will think he’s bluffing about other things as well, like striking, and they are pushing negotiations farther along than needed be?
