Negotiations

UnionStrong

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.
A little humorous…two things stand out:

1. The remark from one of the participants that he “was a package car driver” than rolled his eyes upward.

2. The following clip from another sitting on the couch that he just works 15 hours a week.

I did not know UPS pays for full tuition…?

The last remark about being were you want to be on my retirement…

:hesaidsmiley:
The more you look at it, the more ridiculous it gets. But the public isn’t looking at it like we do. They have no clue about the duplicity this company is capable of.

Wtf? You just reiterated my side of the argument. What planet do u live on?

Sounds like you’re still lost.

You’re side of the argument is that you want SOB to strike if he doesn’t have a “ratified” contract by Aug 1st.

You‘re side of the argument is that you think UPS should, or did, give a LBFO just because SOB asked for it.

You’re side of the argument is that SOB is just like Hoffa and will extend the contract for months.

I pointed out that you’re arguments are not legitimate and you are still clueless. Nothing happened, or will happen, like you think they should.

Wrong again. My side of the argument is put up, or shut up. If you’re not going to strike, then don’t “ask” lol, for a LBFO! He :censored2:ed up by doing so. They called his bluf and did not give them their LBFO, and now he’ll accept the next best thing or strike. I don’t think he’ll strike, but he should because we most certainly will not be getting their best offer. They already showed as much.

This isn't difficult.

A LBFO is an offer from the Company and then no further negotiations are going to take place. It's a take it or leave it offer.

SOB asked for a LBFO by the 30th. UPS gave him an offer on the 30th. The Union turned it down. UPS asked to keep negotiating and that they would have a deal by July 5th.

Since UPS was still willing to negotiate, it was not a LBFO. It was an offer that SOB turned down.

On July 5th, negotiations broke down. UPS said the Teamsters walked away and that they are still willing to negotiate. That means they never gave a LGFO. SOB can ask for one all he wants. UPS does not have to give him one if they don't want. As long as they are willing to keep negotiating, there was no LBFO.

And if there is a handshake agreement before Aug 1st, that is a tentative agreement negotiated between UPS and the Union. You seem to think the Teamsters should strike when there is a tentative agreement, that just needs member ratification.

I don't care what SOB may have said, or may have changed his mind again. He was telling UPS there will be no months long extensions like there was in the past. Have a contract by Aug 1st or we walk. A handshake agreement is a tentative contract.

You're splitting hairs about whether SOB said it has to be approved by the union, and the members, before Aug 1st. If you want to strike when we have a tentative agreement, go right ahead.

If we do not have a TA before Aug 1st, and SOB extends the current contract while they continue to negotiate, then, and only the, can you bitch about the same old same old.
Here is what he said.

Not sure what you mean by "handshake deal" but it's never been said that we won't work under a tentative agreement, and you refuse understand that if we have a TA, we have to continue to work. It is what it is man, you keep inventing "facts," you're only going to see it your way, good luck.
Phew!! I’m glad he never said that, oh wai…wait a minute, did he… yup I think he did…. Yup he did say that, uh oh somebody got some splaining to do…

That's a USA Today report, not a SOB quote. I don't care what the USA Today says anymore than I care what The Hill says when they thought we were striking on June 30. Try harder.

I deleted that because there was also no quotes on that.

O'Brien has been clear since day 1. I can look it up but I am too lazy. His statement at the beginning of negotiations was that he will not "negotiate" after Aug 1st. A deal in hand or we strike.

If he has a handshake agreement that he thinks will pass a vote by July 31st we'll continue working.
I don't believe anything that UPS agrees to is going to pass a union vote. I know that I'm voting no, no matter what and encourage others to do the same just to see corporate :censored2: themselves. They deserve it

youre going to vote no… regardless?

This :censored2: isn’t a game, man. If it’s a good and fair contract and the union endorses it, you’re doing everyone a disservice by voting no.

UPS doesn't want fair and neither do I. We have them by the balls and it's time to pay up or hit the streets. Nothing would make me happier than to see corporate clowns and management losing their careers

Yea, pay up or hit the streets. So if they do offer to pay up, why would you still vote no to have us hit the streets?
