Where did you hear that from? Just rumors, or reliable source?

Doubt it. SOB is visiting local 177 buildings today, including mine in Jersey so how could he be negotiating?

That’s not going to work for me. $3 immediate raise is fine, but after that we need at least $8 over the 5 yr life of the contract. Total of $53 an hr after the five yrs. We got $5 an hr over the life of the contract on a normal negotiating year. We had too much inflation this time. Elections have consequences. Needs to be historic, not seen before type money.

First, $8 over the life of the five years would be $50ish/hr, not $53. $8 would be roughly 19%, and on par with recent negotiations/wins. $53ish/hr would be $11ish over the life based on your $3 up front plus $8 more over the next four, which is I think what you meant...that's around 26% and also within reason based on recent contracts.

We got $4.15 from "normal negotiation," the remaining $1.15 was COLA. We've received around 7.5% (total) over the last two raises, about 11% short of inflation.

He doesn’t have to be negotiating. UPS could have sent him an offer that he liked. UPS knows what he wants, so they knew what to offer him.

It all seems to boil around PT pay. They could have “payed up.”

Why wait until the weekend to announce it though. I don’t believe it.

Yes, $3 up front, plus $8 over the rest of the contract totaling $11 is what I meant. Plus pension improvements. At least.

I hope there’s an agreement but I doubt it. One on the BA’s seemed to think PT wages was the hold up.

I think the reality will be closer to $7+ total with pension improvements. That's based on the fact that I'm completely oblivious as to how the PTers will affect this.
I hope not, for what this company makes it’s not enough. Anybody know John Deere employees wages?
