Negotiations

Not sure I was trying to find it but didn’t have much time.
Apples to apples, my man. You have to stay focused if you want to make a comparison.

I love your passion and commitment, I don't hate our dialog recently, believe it or not. But you have a tendency to focus on being right on a singular point when there's a whole picture to look at. I'd gather you're young, that makes me happy to know you're following behind us. 🍻

I was making that comparison because I was listening to a union contract “expert” being interviewed and he felt that our contract would be similar to that of John Deere. As far as being right, I just think everyone should be able to express their opinion on a subject. And when someone is equally adamant on insisting you are wrong, you have a responsibility to set the record straight. Just simply calling the man out for something he done wrong. I voted for him, but that doesn’t affect the way I judge his performance. If he screws up, I’m gonna say he screwed up. We all should want the best person possible in leadership roles. And the only way we do that is to be honest with ourselves about their performance in said roles.

Yeah, but the health of the economy trumps everything, and a strike would be very bad for the economy. Yes, Amazon is the main reason for all the focus on the PT, however I think he’s still going to have a hard time selling over $20 hr for the PT to the public when they have a full benefit pkg.(if that is the only reason for the strike, which very well could trigger a response from Biden) there’s just not a lot of PT anywhere getting full benefit pkg. That being said, we just have to vote down what we don’t want. We know how :censored2:ty it is to work there, and all have an idea what we are worth, and we just need to communicate that, stick together, and let the chips fall where they may. I’ve changed my tune a little bit on this subject just because it is the best way to get what everyone wants, and the most leverage we will have in quite some time probably.
The economy is adding jobs still after a central bank imposed rate hikes for the express purpose of stopping hiring so that inflation would cool.

The political powers that be will not touch this strike as they know the political consequences from a political power at the state and local level (and a semi-powerful one on the national level).

Quite frankly, I think you are wrong.

The union leadership thinks you are wrong.

A majority of the union members think you are wrong.

So go along with the union or become a SCAB. The choice is yours.

Looks like they reached an agreement with TForce.

So this makes ABF, TForce, DHL, Costco, Sysco, Rail, etc. with contracts. It sure seems the Teamsters have done their research to find out what a Company can afford and are not asking for more than they can afford, or deserve.

So what’s wrong with UPS?

Let the comments begin…

I hear you, but I don’t think he is or will be a scab, he’s just discussing the possibilities and thinking out loud like the rest of us

I’ve been wondering myself about public perception, but I think it really is a great time. Both the left and right are getting sick of the big corporations. The young generation on the left hates the wealth inequality and is becoming more active in unions, the right is fed up with the identity politics. If Fox News ever turns on us we can just start tweeting out all the rainbow pride stuff ups has been doing the past month, and say “instead of spending their money on their workers they’ve been using it to spread this propaganda” lol

A settlement has been reached. Announcement this weekend. We will be voting. Don’t know about part time pay but I heard 1k a month increase in pensions. About 3$ raise August 1st. Nearly 50$ an hour by end of contract

Good point. And even though it’s a conversation for another time, Fox News has already turned on us. They did that when they fired tucker. There just another arm of the establishment global media all working toward the same goal.
