Open eyes means nothing without corroborated data to look at. The public is growing increasingly tired of the MAGA's and their repeated "open you eyes" catch phrase expecting that to serve as an adequate substitute in the absence of proven facts.

YouTube any city like Oakland, Detroit, El Paso, even LA... But, add a term like slum, ghetto, crime, homeless, drugs, violence, dangerous.

The other day, I was looking on Google Maps street view at a house I owned thirty years ago. I was curious, because I was considering a vacation back there, but have been hearing crazy things about how everything has changed. My old neighborhood was working class white people... Decent neighborhood, but nothing fancy, neighbors were good, yet people knew to mind their business.
Now, it is a huge China town. All manner of Asians, and a huge "Asian" marketplace. I was astonished, that it could change that much! So, I dropped a pin on Google maps in front of my old house, and using street view I took a look around. It was shocking! All the landscaping trashed, front yard being used as parking, driveway broken, house shabby, garbage.
The neighborhood was trashed!
In street view after dropping a pin, you can "see more" previous photos going back as far as 2007. You can literally page through the time lapse deterioration all over the USA.

OK, what data was used since the 60's to fight poverty? Improve education? Reduce crime? Because it seems to me a lot of money was spent with the goal to improve the above but they have failed to do so. Which begs the question do Democrats truly want to improve the lives of the poor or do they want the poor dependent on Democrats in exchange for votes?

I'll have to disagree with you about El Paso. It's a nice, safe city with unfortunately a current illegal immigrant problem that's not of their making.

Biggest problem for most in Matamoros is the humidity. The Rio Grande Valley on the American side is pretty nice these days. Better than when I lived there 30 years ago.

Who said any thing about “MAGA”? It’s depressing when people want to reduce issues to simply cheerleading for their political team or lambasting the “other, obviously evil, side”.
The public is growing increasingly tired of being shot at and carjacked........homes broken into......cars.......feces on the streets....
Now, tell us more....
Say, who do you think is doing all this crime?
Say, do you think the promise of $2 million in reparations is going to motivate anyone?
What do you think is going to happen when all the rest of the "no literacy and no job skills" and uneducated folks see such?
I actually substitute teach. I am well educated and qualified. I get to see(firsthand) how it's run. The idiotic woke crap and automatic advancement of illiterate students.......you bet. The smell of weed wafting out of cars 7:30 in the morning at student drop off.....or friend bomb rap blasting away......My Daughter teaches 4th grade.......they were on the playground.....one student said: "Smell that weed?" How many 8th graders we have to give clothes to cover up their new belly ring and midriff.....or pajama bottoms......or the big 2 race girl fight........all this so much so that elementary schools have cops on staff......middle schools....COPS! The only time I ever saw a cop at my high school was on career day.
It is bizarre how the education system is run. Noting......it is generally understood the public sector education system is run and dominated by D E M O C R A T S.
Are we dealing here with another self-appointed Liberal/Democrat expert? That speaks what he/she/they thinks is a qualified perspective.......you? That thinks the bizarre and shameful degradation of American cities and therefore schools is just great? Looks around and says "Yes. This is how it should be...." "This is the correct America". Equitable. Equality.
If Johnie can't read....we'll just give him a govt. check. Susie has 4 out of wedlock kids with no job or education.......we'll just give her a govt. check.
And speaking of data.......what is the success rate(literacy, math etc.) of public schools? How about graduation with a 12 grade level education? How about just simply graduation.......Deep blue cities.......what say you? Let's pick one.....How about Baltimore? Chicago....everyone wants to go there.....

You substitute teach in a public school? Have you taken your viewpoints and spoke openly regarding them in a public forum ? If your convictions are that important then what are you doing broadcasting them on this site that is focused on the small package industry? They belong in professional trade journals and your on union's web site and at it's union member meetings. I'm not an expert in the field of public education and I made that point clear Being that you are (or think you are )then it is much more incumbent upon you to be able to provide some data backing your viewpoint because of your readily available access to it.
