No more RFID

If no more RFID's, what's this?

  • The global carrier is building RFID into 60,000 vehicles this year—and 40,000 next year—to automatically detect millions of tagged packages.
  • The roll-out is part of the global company’s vision of intelligent packages that communicate their location as they move between shipper and their destination.

So those with an insider's view of the trade are misinformed?
All of those things were already done and implemented, and then removed due to cost. Perhaps at some point down the road if the technology gets cheaper, they’re going to try again?

Also, this technology was hilariously unreliable. That stupid wand would pick up packages in the truck next-door because we parked them so close together so they would tear the truck apart looking for it and it was actually in the truck next to it😂

The new system does not involve using a wand or humans. It will be robots.

Good it will even be worse, how exactly is the robot going to get the misloaded packages off of my brick out 1200? As usual UPS is Pie in the sky ideas never plan out. Sure does sound good to the investors who don’t have a clue though.

They started install in the mounts for the "New and Improved" RFID readers to the roof inside the cargo area. My mechanic said that they have to have our building done by sometime in September because IT is supposed to be installing the units then.

I spoke about this previously, months ago. The end game is no diad. When you pull up to stops a light in the back tells you where the package for that stop is. Some how they will be able to tell that you delivered the package. Not sure how long it will take to implement, but that's the plan.

And the package will magically be in the right spot?
