The only way I would volunteer to work a Saturday is if there was a blizzard and they needed Saturday to get things caught up. Happened twenty years ago. Had a blizzard peak day and we worked Saturday (Christmas Eve) to get caught up.

I would be more willing to work if it was an act of nature like a blizzard and not caused by management stupidity.

I turned down extra hours every chance I got once I became salaried.
I have worked 4 shifts in a day in the hub and averaged 54 hours/week in a one year period when I drove.
They liked me because I had a positive attitude and accepted splits without complaining.

I grew up very poor too that's why I work my butt off. There have been a few times I could have qualified for food stamps but I refuse to go that route. I just work more. Lol.
