I ordered a new garage door opener from Amazon. I chose the slow but free shipping. While I was waiting I went ahead and messed with the old one. It was a bad connection on a sensor and I was able to fix it. It won't hurt to have a new one here and ready for the future though since the old one is about 15 years old and probably won't last much longer. I should have waited to order but oh, well.

No, I got a good price and had an Amazon gift card I needed to use anyway. Plus I don't know how long my repair will last.

We have "back ups" for everything here........there's a back up ice maker for my fridge. It went out once....we ordered it and hubby watched you tube and was already to replace it when it fixed itself. Back up coffee makers (plural). etc.I ordered a new garage door opener from Amazon.
