Yeah, we're the ones who are smart enough to understand how Presidents get elected ... you wouldn't understand. :happy-very:

It’s not clear to me that the EC is fulfilling it’s original mission...things are radically different now.

That conversation is also complicated by Gerrymandering.

I want everyone eligible to vote to be able to do so.

But, the EC?

Has it outlived it’s usefulness?

Gotta love you cuckservatives who point to number of electoral votes but ignore total popular votes. Lol
Why wouldn't we point out the electoral votes? That's what it takes to win. The popular vote in each state determines how the electoral votes for that state are cast. Doesn't matter about the national tally because it's 50 different elections. A candidate does exceptionally well in a few states doesn't mean they should automatically win it all.

It takes a popular vote in a state to win it's majority of electoral votes. Ttku....

Yeah, You're right.
No one who isn't brainwashed will never understand how you can be happy with a President who has destroyed our economy, stolen our freedoms , and knocked America from its perch as the only Superpower in the world

That the majority of the population is being ruled by an increasingly radical minority due to their gaming of the system?
How did they game the system? A candidate to win has to appeal across a broad spectrum of the electorate. Trump didn't game anything. He convinced enough people in states that normally vote Democrat that voting for him might give them a better chance economically. This year's election is a referendum on how they think he did.

That's exactly what I said. Each state's popular vote determines how the electoral votes are cast. That popular vote on a national level doesn't count for anything. Just because millions more voted in a couple of large states for a particular candidate doesn't mean they get to dictate how things go for the rest of the country. Want those flyover state votes? Get out and campaign for them vigorously. Clinton didn't.

It will be fine

It’s not all about Trump. The EC, gerrymandering within states, the Senate, all result in Republicans with power despite the majority of voters wanting different representation. Republicans have bad ideas that most people disagree with, but here we are.

Nope ... The idea of the EC was to protect the smaller less populous from the tyranny of the larger more populous states.
Seems to be working fine.

Republicans don't represent a majority of this country, just a majority of the wealthy in this country.
