EV hidden costs:

1. Purchase price.

2. Higher insurance costs. Usually 25% higher.

3. Higher maintenance costs. They need maintenance less often but very expensive when they do. The average annual repair cost for ICE cars is $650. For Tesla it's $830.

4. Cold weather degradation. If you live in a climate with large seasonal temperature swings it will degrade your battery faster.

5. Cold weather range. One hidden cost is the battery heats the interior of your car. Degrades the battery faster in a cold climate and reduces range.

6. Public charging stations can be expensive depending on provider.

7. Average cost for a fast charger in your home is $1500. That doesn't include the cost of an electrician to upgrade your home's power system and other costs.

8. Batteries need to be replaced every 8-10 years and can run $6000-$20000 depending on the make.

9. Some states are now charging higher registration fees for EV's since they don't pay gas taxes.

10. EV's have features like driver less navigation. But you have to pay a lot extra to get those features on some models. Especially Tesla.
....and all the mindless sheep that bought an EV will say, "whoa....nobody told me.".

Naive not helping.

They should be made to pay at LEAST 10 times more fees. And add another 5 times more on top of that because their owners are arrogant.

This is a pretty lousy list.

1. They're expensive? Some are, some aren't.

2. No idea. Could be true

3. EVs don't require any costs the first year of ownership so this number isn't for EV's just Tesla's terrible reliability.

4. Batteries and electric systems are designed to protect the batteries in cold temperatures.

5. Range sucks in cold. Can't deny that.

6. Where is electric charging expensive?

7. Yeah it's an expensive upfront cost.

8. 8-10 years? Where is that from? The average lifespan is estimated to be around 200k miles.

9. No idea.

10. Yeah you pay more for more features on both electric and ICE cars.

You ain't paying attention. Wilber says EV will last millions of miles.... so much better in every aspect except towing. Oh and only if you buy the right one

Yes, the right EV will outlast you or the body of the car. That's why batteries will return to grid storage use after they've served a lifetime in a car.

Kilmer is a hilarious, very intelligent maroon. He's very funny, and a mechanic. He should do both.

His love affair with hydrogen shows he's just not capable of higher level thinking.
Most of those are so misleading as to be fake news, and the vast majority of EV buyers just don't care about any of them.

Tesla already is shipping cars with multi-million mile batteries.
The 4680 cell is a battery that will outlast you, and is mass producing as we speak.

Tesla had to stop touting it as that, as the Osborne effect has killed a number of companies.

When you make a quantum leap, you cannot tell anyone about it until you're in mass production. People will stop buying the previous generation of products as soon as they know it's obsolete.

Current batteries are obsolete. Tesla simply hasn't told everyone yet. They started to do so. The information is out. But they shut up very quickly when they realized it would hurt current sales.

You can buy a multi-million mile battery car right now. Mass production is scaling in Berlin, Austin and NY.

Why does Musk call it a million mile battery and you say multi-million?

He who laughs last didn't get it.
Yes, clueless. Ending gas sales in 18 years in France would mean half or more of the cars are still gas in 19 years. And you guys just suck at math and reading. Nobody anywhere is talking about replacing the entire gas fleet in that time. Idiots like O'Reilly just can't read.
If you order your Tesla now you might get it by end of 2023 .. smh 🤦 wtf is going on over there at Musk Inc?

What's going on? They're doubling production every year for a decade, and it's not enough to satisfy demand.

Bigger production increases than anyone in the world ever thought was possible, and there is still a long line. That's what.

Yes, that's because a gazillion other people want it also, and it's meant to be limited production.

They're building 2 million cars in the next 12 months.
1 million last year.
500k the year before that.
250k the year before that.

And they're sold out for years to come.

Seems like Elon has his mind on other things . Hopefully he’s still hands on in the Tesla factory

He sleeps in it. It's his baby. He does things twice as fast as anyone in the world could hope to do, but when it's a hair slower than he said, folks act like it's a problem.

The model T had no production ramp like this.
