It doesn't matter how an EV is powered, because it's more efficient and using the energy. A coal powered EV is less harmful than a gas car. Even if it uses dirty energy, it uses less. I don't care about the environment but those are facts.

Stuff like that happens. I bought a used Ford Explorer as a winter driver/camping/going to bad neighborhoods vehicle for $7500. Had it checked by a trusted mechanic.

Within the first 6 months the transmission crapped out $3300
Timing chain went. $1300
Cat converter thief hit $1300

EV is more convenient for most. The gas car has to make a pit stop to get gas. The EV doesn't need any extra stops.

Keystone XL wasn't going to be done until 2024 at very earliest. The pipeline was 8 or 9% done when Biden shut it down. Keystone XL was also being built to haul the worst of the Canadian oils that was going to be shipped overseas because it's too expensive to refine in to gasoline.
