Manitoba doesnt use it
Too often, it is too cold in Manitoba to use salt. There are temperature limits, where salt won't work at all, or it will just barely melt the snow\compacted snow, and make the roads into a deadly skating rink. (Once you put salt down, you can't take it back.)

Sand, coal slag (aka: bottom ash, boiler slag, cinders) and other grit are used until the temps rise.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Under 20 degrees salt is useless

The same thing goes for accidents. Wait until people figure that one out

“There are many excellent battery electric vehicles available for consumers to purchase,” the dealers write in their letter to the President. But they add that “electric vehicle demand today is not keeping up with the large influx of BEVs arriving at our dealerships prompted by the current regulations,” and “BEVs are stacking up on our lots.”

Dealers have a 103-day supply of EVs compared to 56 days for all cars. It takes them on average 65 days to sell an EV, about twice as long as for gas-powered cars. EV sales are slowing though manufacturers have slashed prices and increased discounts. Consumers paid on average $50,683 for an EV in September, compared to $65,000 a year ago.

When they get down to "buy a gas or diesel vehicle and they will throw in an EV for free" then maybe I will get one.

Tesla's new 'probable savings' prices for each rear-wheel and all-wheel drive Cybertruck take for granted that the buyer will redeem up to $7,500 in federal tax credits and $3,600 in fuel savings over their first three years on the road.

That allows Tesla to claim, for example, that the cheapest of the three Cybertruck models — which, in reality, has gone up from its originally listed price of $39,900 in 2019 to $60,990 today — will 'actually' cost only $49,890 in due time.
