That’s what I take out in the woods. I’d trust it with my life against mountain lions and bears. One of my neighbors was attacked by a whitetail buck when he was younger. I never thought they’d be a threat, but even they can get aggressive in the right circumstances.

Also mountain goats, they seem harmless but they’re mean SOB’s. They’ll ram your ass off a cliff.

In my area, when people are out in the boonies they often worry about the more glamorous predators like bears and mountain lions.

Personally, I am far more concerned about bad people, wild pigs, and wild dogs.

An ordinary doe is very capable of putting the meanest MMA fighter in the E.R.

We had a guy in the 80’s and early 90’s that brought his shotgun (in a case) on the truck during small game season. Used his lunch break to hunt small game.
