Most of the Right Wing types who post here are the result of when cousins marry. In some cases, I think it's when brothers and sisters marry. Think OUT.
My "kids" know what and how to work them. They've learned though responsible teachings/classes/courses. I'm a proud Father/gun owner. I was taught the right way, 4 rules and responsibility.
They know what damage that can be done as with any responsible gun owner.
least of my worries, If I can't get to them, my "kids" will know what to do....

Listen, I think it's all good that your kids know how to shoot and enjoy spending that time with you. I don't know their ages, but I find it a little strange you speak of them as your backup plan for an imaginary home invasion where you can't get to your guns.
Maybe it's a generation gap we've got going here. I was in school when the whole Columbine mentality started. You may feel differently, but I just don't trust today's children with free access to guns like you do. I know no one thinks their kid will be like that, but it happens. The world is a screwed up place to grow up in now.

I stand behind you in line at the store with a smile on my face...and a gun under my shirt and you are none the wiser, yet you are safer for having me next to you. I won't shoot you. My gun won't pull it's own trigger. It is securely holstered with the trigger covered. It can't just go off. However, rest assured that if a lunatic walks into the grocery store and pulls out a rifle, I will draw my pistol and protect myself and my family and therefore protect you and your family. I may get shot before I can pull the trigger...but, I won't die in a helpless blubbering heap on the floor begging for my life or my child's life. No, if I die it will be in a pile of spent shell casings. I won't be that victim. I choose not to be. As for you, I don't ask you to carry a gun. If you are not comfortable, then please don't. But I would like to keep my right to choose to not be a helpless victim. There is evil in the world and if evil has a gun, I want one too...
