Saw some data a few months ago that said that of those people who are receiving government welfare program benefits 44% of them work full time. The pays simply too damn low requiring public subsidies in order to meet the most basic of living expenses.

FDR's predecessor was Republican Herbert Hoover . The Great Depression happened on his watch. He had 3 years to pull the country out of it but did basically nothing. Indeed, as you said the US was rolling at the END of the war. But the BEGINNING two years we were outmanned, out gunned and the odds were not in our favor.

If my uncle was still alive he would fall of his chair laughing at your preposterous notion of sending a B29 out of San Francisco to A bomb Midway. He was the copilot on a B24. 51 missions out of Italy with the XV. He also got quite a little bit of time on a B29 as the XV was preparing to be deployed to the Pacific. He said that it was enormous leap in airplane design but a very troublesome and marginally reliable aircraft as evidenced by records showing that of the 414 B29's lost in WWII 267 of them were lost to engine fires. Doubts about the plane were so abundant that the less technologically advanced B32 was entering production with some early models flying missions. So sending a B29 on a suicide mission to Midway there's a good chance it would have caught on fire and crashed long before it got there. So much for that big idea of yours.

What plane Barely made it there? Never said San Francisco.........And if we would have lost our fleet at Midway......guarantee we would have moved heaven and earth to build more and we were.....even with liberals.

Never said they were all republicans......what that means is if Biden is in charge and God help us Kamala Harris or ANY Democrat we are screwed. What it means is look how far the Democrats have become anti-American....with folks like you leading the charge to the bottom. America went to war in the defense of democracy not to the right wing extremism you embrace. In fact your right wing extremism is what we fought against.

From one generation to the next America has and will continue to change and evolve and in ways you might find very discomforting . If that's the case then you'll just have to learn to adapt right along with the rest of us .

If in your opinion we Democrats are so evil and threatening to the nation then answer this question. Did you send your COVID relief checks back to the US Treasury? Not a single GOP member in either chamber voted in favor of it. And don't give me this "it's my money" nonsense. If it is was your money then why did your own party right down to every single GOP member of Congress refuse to give your money back to you?

The only admirals whose opinion mattered was that of the two admirals whose plans to wage war on America and it's allies was Yamamoto who was killed in the war and a jailed Nagano who would say anything to save his buttocks from a one and done date with the hangman's noose.

It wasn't me who was making fun of qdq2's twisted understanding of the events that took place between 1929-1945. It was the historical facts that surrounds that time in American history that was making fun of him.

Now this morning's headlines surrounds the Chinese navy's growing numerical advantage over the US Navy . Not only in numbers but in weapons sophistication as well. Reports state that in the time it takes the US to build 1 ship....China can build 3. Seems like an lot of ships being built awfully fast if they're just for coastal defense purposes.

Is history repeating itself only this time it's not Japan but rather China?

If your mom is the only person you can find to live with you then you've got bigger problems than your job.

I never had the luxury of living by myself because it's the most expensive way to pay for housing. Get a roommate.

I'm not saying the job shouldn't pay more, I'm just saying he's wrong about the living wage argument. He needs to use a different angle.

The America that defended democracy in WWII didn't have abortion. Prayer and the Bible were not only allowed in schools but were embraced. Black families were mostly intact because they didn't have welfare. Drug usage was mostly limited to alcohol. There was law and order. By your measure America was a very right wing place then. So don't tell us those guys fought and died to defend men putting on drag queen shows for little kids. Tent cities with open drug use. Refusing to prosecute criminals. Attacking those who defend their lives and others from violent thugs. Allowing millions to break our laws crossing the border illegally. Not evolving. Devolving. Breaking down. That's what you're defending.

China doesn't have ships that can go more than a thousand miles from harbor. Most of their ships can't even go that far. And our vastly superior Air Force would blow them out of the water in short order. What it comes down to is nukes. They don't have as many as we do but they do have them. If they invade Taiwan would they shoot nukes at us if we interceded?
