Not even joking back in 2020 I had my center manager measure out 30 feet with a tape measurer and then had a stopwatch to time my walking pace. I work at one speed—- safe. And that’s what they will get no matter how light or heavy my PC is.
You should have told him. “You’re making blush, thinking it’s that big.”

When he said, "there's something else going on" I would have said, "wait a minute....you're accusing me of something and then you're asking me to define what it is I'm being accused of....I can't do that. You tell me what I'm being accused of.".

See what he says.
Stuff like this is what differentiates between a good job and a bad one.

I cannot believe there are people who fold their mirrors in. They started that before I left 7 yrs ago. I wouldnt do it. Id rather them lose a mirror, than me lose my arm, or head.
On my last safety ride a few weeks ago the on-road said I needed to fold my mirror in more so I asked “how am I supposed to know when it’s safe to fold it back out?” He said just listen and peak out,so stick my head out?! I’ve noticed with my last observation and that ride along that when they can’t find anything they start hounding over the small things on the fringes like mirrors and honking,

My two sure fire gigs against me were "don't check mirrors often enough and needs a haircut". Every time-- just like clockwork. I'm sure the column marked yes or no came pre-filled in as "YES needs a haircut and NO -don't check mirrors often enough." .

You don't need a haircut anymore

I got pulled into the office today with another driver. There was also a steward present. Our manager told me and the other driver that we were running over. I explained to my manager that the route I’m on has gotten heavier due to route cuts and I’m also now covering a bigger area but he shook his head and replied with “there’s something else going on.”

The steward pulled me aside and said that they’ve already started following drivers around and firing them for petty reasons like walking out of a store with a cup of coffee that someone gave them. He said that if they follow me chances are they’ll find some reason to fire me. He also explained that they’re doing this in large part because of the new contract and wanting to get rid of drivers.

I’m not slacking off on my route and I’m honestly surprised that I run over considering I’m running 200 stops a day plus pickups and still making it back with time to spare. However, if I get followed they might catch me doing something wrong even though I try my best to follow the methods. Sure I might not honk my horn at literally every stop but everyone does something that could count against them. It’s just stupid because I’m out there working hard running an over dispatched route every day and they’re acting like I’m a villain.

I’m just going to try to stay on Ps and Qs. If they want to spy on me and hope to catch me doing something then at this point that reflects more poorly on them because I’ve tried to explain how dispatch could fix the route but it’s gotten even worse. What can I do?
It takes a lot to get fired. As long as you ate not lying or stealing you'll be fine. These are intimidation tactics to try to get you to go faster. Don't fall for it. Work the methods and you'll be ok.

Never give any excuse or try to get into some type of reasoning with them because what they are calling you into the office for is all BS and games. There’s no correct answer so don’t even bother. just nod your head and pretend you are processing what they are saying.

No you're not qualified...next thing you know they are going to start sending all the old heads to their little intergrad school to do a "refresher" week. Easy way to get rid of some folks....no way in hell you'd catch me sliding on a fake ice floor or using a delivery car simulator.
