Had a seasonal driver call in this morning saying that he was having car problems and would be in no later than noon. He then called back at 11 saying that he was not going to be in. He lives about 30-40 minutes from the center so taking a cab is not really an option. His route sat and then our PDS scrambled to pull a driver off of one route to put him on this one and called in another to take over. He then called adjacent drivers, myself included, to take work off of the driver. I grabbed 40-50 residentials and my helper and I ran those off in about 40 minutes.

I have to wonder if I will see that seasonal this morning, which is a shame because he has been doing a really good job thus far.

We have had two seasonal drivers quit so far.

With Christmas Eve falling on a Saturday this year, drivers in my center are taking running out of hours to a whole new level. Might as well join them in the game.

In feeders, we are going from 60/7 to 70/8 for peak real soon. If they do that in package, you could work 12 hours a day Mon through Fri and 8 on Sat with 2 hours left over. 34 hour restart and brand new fresh hours of service on Monday.

Perfessor Pickup called it in early November.

My kids both played hockey growing up and played a lot of games on all 3 of those rinks. They would call us if they needed a team to fill out a tournament.

It's a very touristy town with two distinct classes of people.

I was quite shocked as well......so I took quite a late lunch and then they pulled me in off the street with deliveries left......which included Next Day Airs in condos!!

Stopped in for my morning coffee and pee break yesterday at a gas station on my route and saw we made the paper. Cashier asked if I was staying fit so I bought a donut.
