So all of you that says you see that there is a uniparty and both parties suck, I’m sure none of you are registered as a Democrat or Republican. Right? I seen this and switched my registration from a Republican to NPA (No Party Affiliation) I told many of my Republican friends that said they are tired of the party to switch but immediately the excuses comes out.
Been an independent now for about a decade. I vote on who mostly aligns with my needs and point of view. Some are independents, some are republican and some are democrat. I could easily still vote for people if they didn't have a d r t or I next to their names on a ballot. Most cannot and that's where the problems really started.

Abortion was constitutionally protected at the federal level. Dobbs changed that. Ergo, rights were stripped.
it’s the states rights issue, sorry, your totalitarian leanings don’t understand. And now the people have gotten a taste of controlling their own rights they’re not turning back. They can see clearly the only thing going in the way of their liberties and freedom is an overreaching federal government that can barely even operate without embarrassing everybody. maybe you should get out and talk to some young people. They are sick of what you have perpetrated on them. if they’re only given those two choices next November, they won’t vote.

The Supreme Court made a pretty good argument in the written Dobbs decision as to why they were stripped. Roe's "but her 14th amendment right to privacy" argument doesn't sound like a super compelling defense of abortion.

I support European style limits on abortion. They seem pretty reasonable.

My point is that abortion was a constitutionally protected right until last year. It’s not a right for women anymore at the federal level. Women have been punishing Republicans for this since.

I’m really only telling you what I’m hearing, we had a couple dozen early 20s youngsters at our house this weekend, they are thoroughly disillusioned With both sides. With people our age, it’s difficult to break out of the right, left paradigm because it’s so ingrained. Those ideas are changing for better or worse.

Most people with half a brain would not choose to have a bunch of unelected politically appointed for life judges, decide their fate for them. they would much rather choose to have the freedom to choose for themselves.

Decide their fate? If someone didn’t want to get an abortion then they didn’t get the abortion. In no way did Roe compel someone to get an abortion.

So you don’t like the decision of the Supreme Court? I thought people like you believed in judicial supremacy? Oh, I get it only if it’s what you agree with? Which is kind of the problem with letting unelected politically appointed for life group of people decide for you, I would think an intelligent person could figure this out but maybe not .

As you can see most places who are getting to vote on it are voting right in line with what you think they want other people to tell them and they’re doing it for themselves. I’m sorry you have such a little faith in the voters. And so much faith in politically appointed judges, L O L.

No. I don’t like it. But I abide by the law.

My POINT is that women and young people are going to punish Republicans for this at the ballot box. Try to keep up.
My point is your ideas that they care about Democrat or Republicans is on the way out. Try to keep up. You are the problem.

We’ve seen this play out before. Young people may not care about the two parties but will do what they see as the pragmatic thing and cast a vote for the lesser of evils.
No, we’ve not seen that played out at all. We’ve seen them totally give up on voting.
