Because during most of the Obama presidency prices were significantly higher! Did you overlook that part?

A lot more to it than that. The chart shows a spike in 2012 due to a bad drought that ate up most of the crop. Record price for corn that year. Prices dropped as weather returned to normal and good crops were brought in.

Prices vary from year to year based on weather, the size of the South American crops competing at lower prices, etc. Prices don't reflect Democrat or Republican policies.
