Raise in new contract

Honestly, I question the validity of this, time will tell.

Well, that's true I suppose. I only check this website once in a blue moon and never comment. I have a different username from years ago, but it actually has my first name in it, and in an abundance of caution, I made this one. Call me paranoid! I'm a 21 year UPSer, driver and union steward. I really created a new username to share southern supplemental contract with other folks from different regions so we can all compare. Ours sucks, I've seen it.

Some other things have come to my attention today that would make me think your post may be accurate or at least something is going on and we will know shortly. And if your supplement sucks, it may be a lot of unhappy people especially, on this website.

I delivered 5 boxes of vaccines the first day our center got em. It was obviously a huge deal at the time. The four or five of us that had vaccine packages had to verify all packages were on our trucks before leaving the building. We were also instructed that it was to be our first stop of the day, no exceptions.

What do you think these brainiacs pal’d these all important boxes as? They were in the middle of the 5000 shelf in a completely bricked out truck…spent over an hour unloading/reloading my truck at the building just to find these boxes before leaving.

Those raises seem pretty pathetic. Unless those are accompanied by a much larger "immediate" boost (IE get most of the raise upfront at ratification and the smaller ones as the yearly increments). I'm still in my progression period so it'll be a long while before I hit top rate. But still $1-2 over $42 considering the aggressiveness of negotiations we were promised feels like it falls flat.

Maybe but I’m gonna wait to see the whole package before I make up my mind.

So things like no inward facing cameras, no use of technology for discipline or not important?

When did those topics come into the argument? I was speaking strictly about pay raises IGNORING the other variables. The post's topic is "Raise in new contract", not "Raise in new contract with other variables added in."

If you put other variables into the mix, it changes the context of the argument and certainly deserves consideration. But sure, go ahead and attack the credibility and logic of my opinion based on variables that weren't even in the mix at the time I shared my opinion.

Our teamsters just got a tentative agreement for national freight industry, their getting 3.50 raise first year and a total of 6.20 over the length of the contract. They also r getting mlk day paid and two more sick days total 7, more money to there pension total of additional 4.46 hr over the contract. No more invasive tech on inward cameras and audio. Also protection from autonomous vehicles without drivers. This was just done last week by our New Union Team. And we make way more profit for UPS I think our contracts going to be good.

Did anyone else do the parade? Basically had our loved ones hold signs up as we left the facility. But of course you couldn't stop for a picture or a hug.

Never told my family that it was a thing. Because I knew how stupid it would end up

We didn’t get “No Stinking Parade”… :taz:

Maybe we all have forgotten that 2020 Covid year after all it was (3) long, long years ago. Remember those meetings at the White House that the top UPS Executives had to attend in order to prevent the same event that could happen at the end of (JULY)...?

The term "essential workers" is now passe...back to being called greedy parasites draining the Company's profits. A bit harsh statement but unfortunately that is the mindset of those making the decisions at the corporate levels.

Everybody was clueless back during those years, no one including the CDC even knew it was airborne. On B/C we had guys posting more correct information than we were getting from the so-called experts in Washington.

Could it play in with this Contract...We shall see...

Speak for yourself. I called the hoax almost immediately when they eliminated asking questions about it.

This just came in and is "supposedly" the unions proposal on pay raises.
Full Time raises every year.
2024 $1.00
2025 $1.25
2026 $1.50
2027 $1.75
2028 $2.00

part timers get a base rate of $20 and extra money based on how long they've been employed.
Seniority= $20
Seniority+1yr= $20.75
Seniority+2yrs= $21.50
Seniority+3yrs= $22.25
Seniority+4yrs= $23.00
That’s a pay cut and will never pass. Inflation is here for years to come. We will need wayyyyyy more than that.
