Raise in new contract

How does the company ever say anything to a driver about overallowed? They use their system that dispatches our routes that’s how. If they can dispatch 9.5 they can dispatch 8. Just a few years ago we started almost an hour earlier. This system can be moved to whatever time they want…..ITS LOGISTICS. Money IS everything….I’d like to see you live without it.

They can dispatch 8, but they never will. Get used to it.

We should just make the announcement now…strike 8/1. No more negotiations til 8/2. What an insult. To even come like that…..I could understand coming in at $15 total Raise over 5 years and SOB gets them to $18 but that is just stupid. We need $$.

Apparently, you don't know how negotiations work. Go away and leave it to the big boys.

$15 total Raise over 5 years

My God you're gullible. Ain't never going to happen.

Sounds like you haven’t done any work organizing at your building. Or putting pressure on your local to engage the members.

So I guess you like being forced over 60 hours since you’re so upset about that language.

6th day does need to be optional. And if UPS was at the table right now bargaining in good faith, the International would have a chance to address it.
Oh no I certainly don’t want to work 60. Or over 60, I’m saying only having that language isn’t good enough. They can force 6 days and keep guys under 60 very easily. NO FORCED 6th PUNCH ! Or everyone should vote no! I’ll allow an exception from thanksgiving until Xmas .

I hear you and agree 100% but if you look at this update, it says forced 6th punch is still being negotiated. Of course nothing is getting negotiated right now, but it’s still an open issue for the union.

6th punch is an issue I wish SOB would grow a pair, and make the statement that there is no negotiation we're walking if it's not optional

Lol!! I'd day 3/4 around here. Especially if they're offered a $1 an hour raise and a chance at unfilled driver positions.
Drivers will come back if offered unfilled feeder positions.
Good luck. You’ll be the only ones. Good luck keeping your job at UPS when you’re all alone. Lmao

What do you do at UPS, and how long have you been there ?

I would never ask that question...everybody thinks they will be (Outed), even worst if you list your local.

Paranoid runs deep especially if you have been treated like a three legged dog for most of your tenure.

The only ones that have (actively) participated on B/C over the years are the (TWO Percenters) with high seniority or have already left the buildings (retired)..that includes our management folks...

I'm glad nobody on this site ever figured out my true identity.

We need massive, massive raise. ABF made 290 million profit in 2022 and members got a $3.50 raise first year and a $6.50 over life of contract. We made UPS 13b profit last year. We made UPS almost 45x more $ than ABF. I have repeated myself several times on this thread, usually to much sarcasm by the members how out of bounds I am thinking we deserve a 18-20 raise by the end of the contract. I believe that most here are unaware of how little we are paid compared to the profits we make this company. If It was not for a pension that will pay 639 members a six figure salary at retirement, this company would be unable to have a workforce in the DC area. Just to many other places paying 100k+ a year for much less effort. For those in major cities around the country. talk to people about what they make. In the past this was kind of a taboo subject matter but it will open your eyes to how little we are paid, considering the amount of work, effort required and the profits of those. 13B is a ton of money. This company could pay us $100 an hour and still make the same profit. What does the Company propose…..a .50 raise a year split into a bi annual increase. .25 every 6 months.

He's a 25 year package driver in the Atlantic ready to retire. That's why he only wants 8 hours. Just putting in his time to take the 25 and out. He doesn't have a clue how businesses run. I agree, he probably knows how to make/save money, but has no idea how a business runs that pays him that money.

UPS never will be a 9-5 job. Some routes are, the heavy industrial routes that need to get the pick up volume back, but the majority are 8.5 to 9.5 hours.
