Well we do not know if it’s indeed valid, and there is a reason most negotiations are kept secret. If that offer was legitimate, it is not the first awful proposal UPS has ever made, and it won’t be the last.

That is indeed true, but there have been leaks all over the place lately, especially with contract negotiations. It would have been in the unions interest to leak this. First, it enrages the work group and fires them up. Most importantly, it generates support from the media and applies massive pressure on UPS. Without getting into politics, the party in power is supposed to be the party of labor and they have failed miserably in that regard. Railroad contract and Amazon unionization have been public failures. They need a win desperately and our contract could put them in the good graces of labor again.

If we get rid of the 22.4 language they can’t use that force in seniority order language against us anymore, that will end forced 6th punch in the southern at least.

It’s what the company decides to do at the end of the day. We’re making it more expensive to work us excessively.

We should just make the announcement now…strike 8/1. No more negotiations til 8/2. What an insult. To even come like that…..I could understand coming in at $15 total Raise over 5 years and SOB gets them to $18 but that is just stupid. We need $$.

Sounds like you haven’t done any work organizing at your building. Or putting pressure on your local to engage the members.

So I guess you like being forced over 60 hours since you’re so upset about that language.

6th day does need to be optional. And if UPS was at the table right now bargaining in good faith, the International would have a chance to address it.
