Do women speak in the COC?Did she usurp authority over a man when she told the news? Did she push Peter aside on the day of Pentecost and tell him, "I'll preach this!" Was there a worship assembly or bible study going on?
A business woman no doubt. And a good one. Doesn't mean she violated New Testament instructions when she was in worship. Both her and her husband were instrumental in converting Apollos. There was no assembly. Private discussions.
She was not a deacon. This is an office in the church that has qualifications for a male. She was called a deaconess. She was not in a position of authority. More probable noted for her service.
The feminine form of the word diakonos does not authorize an official class or order of "deaconesses" any more than the feminine form of the word presbuteros (translated elders) authorizes female elders.
What safety the scripture?
1 Corinthians 11:3- "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." This text places woman in submission to man. Submission does not mean inferiority; Jesus was equal to God (Phil. 2:6) but also subject to him (1 Cor. 11:3).
Many women are more intelligent than men. In many congregations, women more devoted to the Lord than many of the men. So, not saying that women are inferior to men because they must be submissive to them.
1 Corinthians 14:14- "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak: but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also said the law." This ordinance is for "all the churches of the saints" (14:33).
This commandment forbids women publicly addressing the entire assembly.
1 Timothy 2:11-12. "Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be silence." The limitation placed on a woman's teaching by this passage is over a man."
She cannot be placed in a role in which she usurps authority over a man.
Of course.Do women speak in the COC?
Are you the head of your household? Do you "lead"?Do women speak in the COC?
I like her honesty and the joke he made at the end about basically everyone having evil in them but I'm more interested in what comes next
Next comes the journey of growing as a child of Christ. It doesn't happen overnight and it involves building the relationship with Him that you just started. You find out what your talents are and put them to use in a way that glorifies Him and hopefully help others to let Him into their lives too. Now the journey is much larger than this but it's a starting point.I like her honesty and the joke he made at the end about basically everyone having evil in them but I'm more interested in what comes next
How do our talents glorify him?Next comes the journey of growing as a child of Christ. It doesn't happen overnight and it involves building the relationship with Him that you just started. Because the motives for our actions are based more in pleasing Him than simply what our wants and desires are. I will use one of my favorite celebrities as an example. Tim Tebow. He had a talent of being an athlete. He used that talent to do so much more than simply live a life that revolved around what football could get "him" (women, money, partying etc.) Instead he not only thanked God every chance he got, he used it as a way to evangelize to people. He used his fame and money for the ministries he does to this day. He has devoted his time to help the less fortunate in so many ways (Tebow Foundation, Night to shine events, helping children in foreign countries, taking part to help stop human trafficking, and more). God put a woman in his life that also has uses her gifts to help him. This is just one example. How do our talents glorify him?
You will always be a better christian than vantexan
Im not sure i do.Because the motives for our actions are based more in pleasing Him than simply what our wants and desires are. I will use one of my favorite celebrities as an example. Tim Tebow. As to how you feel about vantexan, I'm not in any competition with him for being more Christian. He has knowledge of things that are more than I possess. Christ uses all types of people that do things in ways that are different. We are all humans and all have flaws. I still consider him a brother in Christ
I would say tim tebow if hes a reformist, did a good job as a christianBecause the motives for our actions are based more in pleasing Him than simply what our wants and desires are. Don't judge his Christianity whether he is a reformist only. See what his motives are for doing them. This is how you can judge whether you think he's a good Christian or notI would say tim tebow if hes a reformist, did a good job as a christian
As far as celebrities go, I also look up to Dabo Swinney. He is a high level college football coach yet puts it as secondary to his following of Christ. He not only teaches young men how to be competitive in competition, he strives to take that beyond the ball field.I would say tim tebow if hes a reformist, did a good job as a christian
Can you give me another example?
When i say reformist i mean not a revolutionaryDon't judge his Christianity whether he is a reformist only. See what his motives are for doing them. This is how you can judge whether you think he's a good Christian or not
He does it because it was his calling for following Christ. He never attributes it to common sense. He has several books out there. Maybe check them out if it peaks your interestWhen i say reformist i mean not a revolutionary
I think he did it bc he had common sense that helping the less fortunate is good and he probably has a pretty good interpretation of christianity
If he went after the govt too or corporations that would be good too, bc they are not less fortunate they are powerful and corrupt
Thats very cool he got jailed i respect thatAs far as celebrities go, I also look up to Dabo Swinney. He is a high level college football coach yet puts it as secondary to his following of Christ. The person who will be always be the man I look up to the most was the man who guided me to give my heart to Christ to start with. His name was John Cook and he was my high school wrestling coach. He was an iron tough former Army Ranger from the Vietnam war era and was very strict but very caring at the same time. He openly admitted he was a flawed man but with no doubt a follower of Christ. He coached wrestling until he became an evangelist who traveled the world preaching the Word to anyone who would listen. He was jailed numerous times for handing out bibles in countries that were/are not Christian friendly.

Im gonna quote christian cornel west after i rewatch a philosophy video he did and he talks about wat matters
"What does it matter
I was successful in things that dont matter"
The matrix asks wats real.
Wat kind of christianity matters and wat doesnt? Is the matrix asking wats true any different?
In the matrix there of course is many meanings to the word "real"
