My problem with you all along has been that I, and I believe most Christians, believe strongly.that the Bible was given to us as a guide in order to know God, Jesus, and the plan of salvation. It's not putting the Bible above God, it's following what he has given us. But you disagree with.some of the Bible so you dismiss it as just the writings of fallible men. You set yourself up as the final say on what should be believed and followed. And you justify that by telling us God has directly told you what is his plan for us. Even if that contradicts what he has already told us in the Bible. You say you converse with God but deny that the writers of the Bible were guided by the Holy Spirit. You downplay the importance of the Apostles in establishing congregations and guiding the early Church. You call them fallible men but Jesus chose them to carry out this Great Commission. They were baptized by the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost and were given miraculous powers. You tell us the Bible isn't needed and that God will reveal himself to us but can't explain why in countries around the world, populated by billions who don't have access to the Bible, God hasn't revealed himself to them to where at least significant numbers are following Christ. Only in places where missionaries have distributed Bibles and preached the plan of salvation do you see significant numbers of Christians. Yet you don't like missionary work. And, confronted with this, you just continue to speak platitudes about God's love and put down the rest. It's a head scratcher.
