Philippians 2:8 states, "And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross!
He did it willingly and with humility.
The state was not in control.
Amazing that you won't listen to the millions of Bible scholars who have lived over the last two millennia but you will support the teachings of a political malcontent because his views are aligned with yours.
the matrix tells us 99% accept it. so theres going to be a lot of wrong bible scholars.
He allowed it to happen. You don't crucify the Son of God if he doesn't want it.
i agree. this is what happens when you do a something moral is quite often you must be willing to get crucified for it.
Accept what exactly? And why is it that Hedges can see what most can't? It's because Hedges is a malcontent who wants attention. And you fall for it.
accept the reality that has been imposed on them.
im not sure what makes chris hedges so good besides the fact he is well read, and his religious father was of high moral character, plus the fact hes seen hell covering wars around the world.
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the New Testament. Jesus was sent by his Father to be a sacrifice for mankind. It was prophesied and he fulfilled all prophesy. It wasn't that he led a rebellion and was captured and killed by racist Romans. You and people like Hedges have twisted what's not even in the Bible.
Plenty of people have done the same Ricky. And plenty of people have religious fathers of high moral character. But somewhere along the way Hedges has twisted the truth in his mind.
gospel is described as radical. and you can see how the state wouldnt like that. so it makes sense they would kill him. ive quoted the bible here too which lines up with what theyve said. theres been other prophets too with a similar fate. it was in the articles i quoted the other day. this is nature of reality. you fight for heaven on earth, and you might be killed in the process.
hes probably famous for his books and interviews. the ideas inside them. so thats where hes different than others. theres lots of intellectuals out there, but i would say hes one of the most popular. he was in town at the university doing a speech. i couldnt get in. dont know how many people showed up.
Where in the Bible is it described as radical? Where does it say get out and protest the government over everything you don't like? And where does it say fight for heaven on Earth? You're literally making it up as you go along. Billions of people live in poverty Ricky yet you're wanting to move to where it's nice. Practice what you preach and give everything you own to the poor.

Pilate was willing to let Jesus go. It was the Jewish Pharisees that wanted Him put to death.
how did the roman state act back then vs what the gospels said?
it mustve been very different for it to be considered radical.
The Gospels alluded to Roman rule but nowhere did they say resist that rule.
i dont think the romans liked the gospels. if youre preaching something different than the state thats probably gonna catch their attention. depending on your freedom of speech, you can keep saying it without troubles or not.
and yet he still ordered him to be killed.
