I knew a couple guys who "stuck it to the company" on their last day. One guy just drove around all day and didn't deliver anything, then he made his pickups throwing all the pickup pieces on top of the deliveries brought the whole mess back to the building and punched out. The other guy parked his truck out back by the shop tossed his diad in the cargo area and snuck out the back gate, they didn't find it til around 1100 or so. Imho all these guys really did was stick it to the other drivers who had to stay out late delivering all that crap. Sure they made the building management mad for a day or so but a week later nobody cared. If you don't want to work your last day just call in sick, otherwise just go in and do your job.

I had thought out plans for how to mark my last day, too. ( was working 6pm-3am )
But I had scheduled surgery for later that day and I ended up on disability for 6 months.
So none of my ideas could be carried out.
On my last official day , I did return to clean out my locker but no one was around to say goodbye to.
However since I had a master key to the lockers, I unlocked a bunch of the old unused ones.
( I still have that key just in case someone wants it )

I still have a key for my old center and can still open letter boxes---------you would think ................................after all these years.........

Retired 2020. Not my Problem Anymore!
After retiring last November I’m getting back in a band of guys that I played with over 40 yrs ago when we was 17 yrs old. They always wanted me to be in their band but UPS hours always kept me out. Now after retiring I can enjoy the things I never had time for!
I talk to people that retired and get depressed or feel no purpose in life. I never felt UPS cared about me nor did I have the illusion that I was something special to UPS so me walking away after 39+ years was so easy. I left with no recognition or even a mention that I was retiring and I think that mind set has served me very well after retiring. it has been the easiest transition I have ever made! 👍🏼
