The answer depends on when you start to describe it. Putin demanded NATO not allow UKR into the club and place weapons so close to RUS. The West ignored, Putin massed troops and arms as a signal, West ignored and so Putin said “ it then” and invaded to make his point / bring UKR back into the “family”.
That’s one theory and I’m typing on an iPhone.
