So Poland is willing to give up the old aircraft that the Soviets gave them when the USSR broke up in exchange for US made newer jets. Sounds like the perfect kind of a deal Biden would do. At least they didn't give all the weapons to the Taliban this time...
Ukrainian pilots already know how to fly the MIG-29. They haven’t been trained to fly US aircraft like our NATO allies have been. So it sounds like a pretty good arrangement.

Yes, it is.
But with minimal training , Ukraine could have a fleet of A-10s operational quickly.
And they were designed to attack Russian tanks.

Different roles. Mig is air to air combat but not ground attacks. A-10 is the opposite.
And Ukraine already has the Su-27 Frogfoot tank killer

But since the US is retiring them for being old, it would be better to give them to someone who could use them rather than filling up space in a boneyard.

In the US? Nothing comparable replaced them but it was a plane the Air Force never really wanted. Not shiny and sexy enough for the flyboys.

From what I've read Poland has no intention of doing this, as it would officially bring NATO into the conflict, potentially escalating it into WWIII.
