I have a feeling I will be stuck here for awhile
That and the 8 hour guarantee if it applies.
I started young, that's part of the problemMe too. Original plans were '18 contract for my 30th. But only 51. Now an extra 4 yrs for 55. So now I may go to 56. So I can finally get my 6th week vacation on the final yr

6 weeks are fantastic
So you didn't get any vacation weeks as a casual? When you became permanent you didn't get vacation weeks towards your current position? That's weak language at best if you have to start over.I was a casual for 10 yrs. No vacation or sick and rovers. The beginning of concessions by the union. For 28 yrs plus 4 weeks vaca
LOL. Showed up at 10:30am....Got EDD....10 stops. 10 dense stops close to the hub. Fired up the PC for 30 minutes and called it a day.....
Casuals never received vacation weeks. All seniority employees get credit toward vacation by their hours worked. So you didn't get any vacation weeks as a casual? I would propose that any casual hired full time receives vacation accrual, back to when first hired.Casuals never received vacation weeks. All seniority employees get credit toward vacation by their hours worked.

Remember to bring that up at your locals proposal meeting. I'd rather all time worked as a casual/free period/summer vacation/svd...be deducted from progression.I would propose that any casual hired full time receives vacation accrual, back to when first hired.
This is the first intelligent thing that you have ever posted. I am sure it will be the last as well.I was a casual and we all knew the deal when we were hired.

And look for it to probably double by the end of our next concession-filled contract. Before this contract it was 50/100
Currently it's 200/400

No doubtA

Or, delete all the old seasonal language altogether. Make them hire permanent. We don't have casuals here and it seems to be a way to prevent that from happening.Remember to bring that up at your locals proposal meeting.
