He offered me the day off or work Safety today, I said "No thanks". I told him if every Monday was going to be like that, I will go ahead and retire. I had an eleven hour planned day yesterday. It was ridiculous.
So far, every Monday has been that way here, since last October when we implemented this crap.

I hear ya I pizzed em off and they stuck me in some old pos 700
And I was driving 280 miles a day
Did that for a couple weeks.

I had 32 years in at the time and that was my cue that it was time to move on retired a year later

I think they do that on purpose to try to convince older drivers to retire.

IMO the absolute worst possible Monday is still 1000x better then having to Brown up on a Saturday. I don't care how easy or not easy Saturdays are. No friggin thank you. I don't care if I have to work 14 hours every Monday, and cover 4 routes worth of pickups.

Here they are using PT cover drivers. I was told the local is fighting it. Any fulltime driver that wants to work a 6th punch is asking and when told no they are filing because Saturdays is considered extra work and should go to a FT before a PT.

Our first Saturday every route went out with too much work. Every driver did 11-12 hours. Monday they cut a ton of routes and had a huge misload problem.

Exact same way here. I told these Saturday drivers that they can use 8 hour requests and personal days on a Saturday.

Extra work used to be running air on Black Friday.

Saturday ground is part of an alternate work week and is NOT extra work.

Ok I can see you are having trouble here. You don't know my supplement. PT cover drivers can NOT be used to supplement the work force. They are for vacation, disability, jury duty or sick days. So that means they can not have a T-S alternate work week. So them working Saturdays is extra work.

I think thats where the confusion is.

How to confirm whether or not Saturday is gonna be an extra work day or not.

Can anyone tell me where Saturday has already started. If a route that normally gets cut Mondays before Saturday ground, are they cutting additional days because of Saturday?
