socialized healthcare

part of being free is being free to choose. so when you cant afford things especially basic things like protesting which maintain democracy, then you are less free.

in norway the govt covers the costs of travel for people to get healthcare who live remotely. that is more free than what we have.
In Norway they have oil and a very small population. Makes a huge difference as to what can be covered.

hey guys im going in for a cat scan i believe next week for my cranium not because im a demented socialist but because i banged my head skiing.

the time between me going to the doc and me going to hospital for the cat scan was about 2 weeks so it was short. doesnt cost me anything. i can always cancel and get it somewhere else if i want although im not sure what hte point of that would be. my healthcare costs dont go up because i got injured.

im also going to do physio for my knee. ill give you the low down on what kind of coverage an uninsured working age canadian would get. there are many well rated physio places.
I get a CT scan the same day at the hospital. Had to wait one day (20 hours) when referred by an orthopedic surgeon.

Your whole life is full of excuses.
I would love to be an eyewitness when life bites you in the ass, and it will. You are already bitten, dead currently, but that final death can be averted. As for your current life, you will be bitten. I hate to repeat it but will, I'd love to witness your demise, being the hater you are.@DriveInDriveOut.

im not talking about emergencies.
He wasn't speaking of emergencies, he was speaking of how things work without rationed social healthcare.
I offered to pay for my sister that lives in England to come here and get an mri. She had a two month wait over there. She turned down my offer and all total it took her between 12 and 18 months to get a hip replacement.
Medicine does not work like that currently in the US, the government has yet to seize total control.
@1989, I tagged you so you might read this and correct me. I'm being moderated and this post may not show up until tomorrow, yet the stamped time will be when I actually posted it. Posted time and appearance time are not the same.

You of all people should support Single Payer. You have a crappy pension, apparently poor health, and few options. Unfortunately, your trained response prevents you from supporting something you would actually benefit from.

One thing about Republicans. They're reliably gullible and policy bound. If Fearless Leader McConnell is against it, so are you. Trump has no idea or clue...at all.

Just tell me how to pay for it. Pointing to Norway is disingenuous. If it can be payed for, great. But we're running huge deficits now. So show us your plan that makes it work.

Increase taxes, especially on the wealthy, who pay a disproportionately low percentage of their income. Or, have a GST like Canada.

If we're running close to a trillion dollar deficits now you're literally going to have to confiscate all of their wealth. Then what?
