SEC has had a couple of very good teams but the rest were pretty much middle of the road. You can't claim strength of conference just from Alabama.
This year: Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Texas A&M were all top 25 schools. Doesn't mean they're going to beat everyone they play. But the overall quality of play was pretty good. Likely Florida and Oklahoma will be back in the mix next year. Even Kentucky is tough.

Big 10: Consistent teams are Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. Now Oregon. Indiana had a great season beating nobodys. Illinois has definitely improved.

ACC: They've gone from a premier conference to a bunch of also rans.

Big 12: Arizona State is the best, Iowa State is the best of the rest. Not saying much but I do like Arizona State.

Pac 12: Boise State joins them next year.

Top 25 schools means a lot less with the ranking bias.

Indiana was a paper tiger but Notre Dame is looking really good this year. Those teams deserved to be in despite what Alabama thought.
Alabama blew it against Oklahoma. They didn't deserve it but would've been in if they would just take the top 16 teams in the final rankings after conference championships.
