Too little done, too late now. No way to save it, we can only prolong its demise.

My pension isn't in good shape either. I've been very vocal about asking for some small cuts in it for years. It's both the company and the unions fault.

Like $20. I did opt out at the time when I found out. Minimum fees ate it up. Not a huge deal just pissed me off that's all.

Yes. I have heard this also. The first ck is UPS' d to us. Then they are direct deposited after. The last I delivered one to a recent retiree. 5 yrs ago

They are both directed deposited on the 1st day of the 2nd month.

nope! everyone recieved their fair share of pension contributions. Some areas, like the west, just invested that money better.

The biggest issue seems to he with the multi employer plans and what companies were in that plan.

yep. they invested their future retirement with businesses that went under. it was just simply an unforeseen bad investment. Bad investments happen from time to time, I've made quite a few myself.

Nobody can be right 100% of the time. Just just have to be right more than you are wrong. The pension model doesn't work anymore. I'm not just talking about UPS.

There are people who have picked up fighter jets from the 80’s from Ukraine and some of the other former Soviet block countries.....the munitions and advanced electronics are stripped and the plane is shipped over here... this was 15 years ago or so, I’m not sure if you can still buy them...and I’m not sure what they would go for either...

maybe I didnt phrase that correctly. they invested in the success (and failures) of all the businesses in their pension plan.

The key to a “successful “ multi employer pension plan is diversity in the investments of the plan and the diversity in the different businesses who contribute to the plan.... so many have only trucking and transportation... that is where the problem is..
