You would have to be stupid to take it. Lose your health insurance, great pay, and pension contributions.
It really depends on who the offer is made to, how much time they have with the company, and how happy the person is with their job. If the driver is close to retirement, then I'd agree it would be dumb to take the offer unless they would also guarantee that the pension and health care stay intact. If the driver has less than 10 years with the company, it may be worth accepting. Given the volume situation at UPS and that even more volume (Amazon) will be gone by next year, low seniority drivers are at risk of being bumped. Wait to see what the offer is and who it is offered to. My question is, can the Teamsters prevent a driver from accepting an offer from the company to leave?

$20,000 plus start collecting retirement if you are old enough. Don't take the buy out then they will fire you. Writing is on the wall. All of our work is being redirected to Roadie. Take the money and run!

Surprised it took this long. Thought it would have been part to the last contract. Teamster's post is more angry then anything they posted during the 2023 campaign

Hope it's generous. I'm too green to take a severance, but our center has plenty of 25 plus drivers/workers bidding the time to 30 or some 35 years of service.

I would really read the small print for sure if accepting as this company does nothing that doesn't somehow benefit them.

The job has gotten far worse since I've been here & I've only been driving 10 years. Out all night delivering beds & trampolines isn't something I see myself doing for another 20 years.
It's too bad the union can't do anything to stop the excessive overtime and cut back the furniture moving.

It's weird reading post like this. Obviously every center(manager) is different. But same company. Since I hit quad pay I rarely go over 9.5 and if it happens twice in a week, dispatch gives me an 8 hour the remaining week.
