Hypothetically, if you’re implying that they conclude they are going to force in. It clearly

A decision to force drivers in would completely make the union look like a bunch of idiots seeing there is language that says no driver can be forced in on their day off. All they need to do it’s just add language that says the committee’s decision cannot contradict or strike down section 1b.
Trust me, that language is there exactly for the reason to be able to force. It’s better than the old language, but it still isn’t perfect.

Even if they did force they can't work you over 8. i think the language is clear enough on that. It's definity something to discuss with leadership.

I’m not upset with the language I never expected the company to allow their selves to have their throat slit in regards to staffing. My personal opinion is it would’ve been smarter to offer double time to people who volunteered.

More backing for the drivers if it did come to that when nobody comes in. Language is pretty clear no forced on day off.
I honestly don’t believe the forced in will be as big a problem because of the Tuesday through Saturday schedule being instituted for regular package car drivers. Clearly they still will be some staffing issues but nothing like before. Getting rid of the 22.4 helps the company just as much as it does us.

The holy grail of language on this issue is service not being interrupted. I’m assuming that’s in local supplements.

In that case, all drivers would have to have that schedule for peak. Just saying.

It's one thing if a driver chooses to but being forced is another. Just my opinion.
Double time if volunteer and straight time if forced?

Double time if it’s not your scheduled day instead of time and a half. It would help on both ends of the spectrum, they would plan better. To avoid it, And really not have any trouble getting people to volunteer if necessary.

Yeah that would be 88.48 for me . Yeah they would staff better. Did the union try this?
